The Gators and Buck Rogers looked to ride the emotional high of their big win against their rivals, the Bulldogs from Georgia, as they traveled to Nashville to face the Commodores of Vanderbilt. Rogers continues to be a nominee for the Heisman trophy and this week was announced to be a semi-finalist for the Maxwell, Walter Camp, and OBrien awards.

Game - #1 Florida (8-0) vs. Vanderbilt (2-6)
Despite the unusually cold weather and pouring rain, the crowd packed into the stadium to cheer against the #1 Florida Gators. The conditions did not seem to effect either team as the Commodores ran the opening kickoff back for a TD. The Gators looked impressive on their opening drive as they moved the ball down the field with relative ease and scored on a TD pass to M. Jackson to tie the game at 7.

Rogers was intercepted on the final play of the 1st quarter as he attempted to force a ball deep down the sidelines. The Gator defense would not yield any points and Rogers got back on track on the next offensive drive as he connected for a 40 yard TD pass on a slant route.

Vandy would storm down the field to tie the game with a minute left in the first half. Rogers had all his timeout and led the Gators down the field to take a halftime lead when he connected with his tight end on a seam route. The Gators led 21-14 at halftime.

The second half got sloppy as both teams appeared to stall on offense. The Gators receivers dropped a total of 8 passes on the game, most of which occurred in the second half. The Commodores did add a field goal in the 3rd quarter. Rogers would through his second interception in the 4th quarter but Vandy was unable to take advantage.

The Gators would sneak out of Nashville with a 21-17 victory. Rogers was named player of the game, despite his worst completion percentage of the season. Rogers ended the game 15/31 for 298 yards with 3 TDs and 2 INTs.

The Gators face-off with South Carolina in Week 12.
