NCAA Basketball 09 Might Be Really Good

I don't normally like to predict such bold things with several days out from a review, but I am having a ton of fun with this game so far. There are some games where you can't seem to put them down for some reason or another, and NCAA Basketball is that right now to me. There are some weird gameplay quirks, but the game is just fun to play. I was a big fan of the dynasty mode last year, and it's only gotten better, so that's just another plus.

Here are some overall thoughts after simming a season in dynasty mode. Also, I have included a few other nuggets as well for you guys who have been asking questions.

The mode is very similar to last year, which I consider a good thing. The mode has been slowly gravitating towards what college hoops has been offering in terms of how it handles the coaching market.

Life and college assignments killed my ability to get any real playtime in with NCAA Basketball 09...expect some playtime tonight and some more detailed impressions. I'm going to dive into the dynasty mode tonight, so expect some impressions based on a season of simulating the game.

There are a few things that stand out:

The game is much better this year. How much better? I'm not sure, but we gave March Madness a 4 out of 10 last year, this game is not going to be near that.
The atmosphere is good, not great. I don't think the atmosphere is as good as it could be, but it definitely is far from terrible.
Commentary, need more time. Having Erin Andrews is a cool addition as well, but I'm pretty sure the commentary will end up repetitive in a major way.

That's right folks, I will be updating my blog all week to give you impressions of NCAA Basketball 09. After being a March Madness veteran since the beginning, I can only hope the name change turns this franchise around after what was just an abysmal game last year.

On another note, who has the highest ovr so far? Mine is sitting at a paltry 11ovr
