QoTD: Every other year would be great. It would give developers time to eliminate all of the bugs. I would be fine with "subscribing" to a roster update service that would offset the developers' lost annual revenue.

QOTD: YES!! It would be nice. It would probably be more beneficial if the companies kept the games relevant for longer with dlc that would be relevant for the audience.

Uhhh, QOTD - I agree that every other year of a "full" release of a sports game could work with roster fillers in between, along with patches and DLC, as well, of course.

QOTD: I think a pay-for-roster type deal between major releases would work fine. You get the first season free, and then pay for major releases like the end of the season, after the draft, start of next season, and maybe a deal for all updates the following year.
Couple that with some tuner updates ala NHL 10 and you have a pretty good deal all around.

QOTD: I think that there are lots of stupid reasons for developers to not fix perpetual bugs, but the one-year developer cycle is not among the top ones. I'm fine with yearly releases, but I only buy one annual title regularly (NBA 2K), so I could see the value of the alternative.

QOTD: No, I have never I played a sports game for two years. The only game that I've ever played consistently for two years is Gears 1.
I think we all claim to like the idea of a 2-year cycle but we would want a new game sooner than that.
How can people justify a new $300 iphone every time Apple says, "Buy now!" yet every 12 months is too often for a sports title?
