Re: Two Weeks of Madden 09, and Official Patch News!

I have been as critical as anyone these last 2 weeks and haven't played Madden since Wednesday the 13th because I ONLY play Franchise Mode and with the Progression/editing glitches it was unplayable to me.

I am very happy and impressed these issues have been resolved along with the many others listed. I don't understand how people can complain about what wasn't in the patch, they did a GREAT deal of work for 2 weeks time. I can't wait to start playing again when this patch drops.

I understand that there's other issues that some people still need to be addressed BUT I hope they appreciate what we ARE getting. This is not the usual efficiency and customer service we are used to getting from EA. I for one greatly appreciate this new more transparent and professional way they are doing business. They are listening to the consumer and working to perfect the product. Will they get to everything this year? Maybe not but I have a MUCH better feeling about reserving Madden 2010 (which I'm sure will have a much improved Franchise Mode).

Thanks to Ian and everyone else involved.

Re: Two Weeks of Madden 09, and Official Patch News!

thx Ian - we fran only players really needed something done....we were able to make it though last years fran mode, but when we powered it on this year we were speachless when we saw the same glitches......
when you say:
On a side note, there is also a Franchise stability issue that we have been investigating, and we are working feverishly to get this figured out. We will update on that issue as soon as we can.
does that mean the freezing issue in season 2010 is not going to be fixed? this issues is as important as any other. there is no such thing as a two year dynasty. Please include this issue in patch 2! thx Shawn

Yes, thank you EA! This is all very good news, however I have one question...

Does this sentence mean that just those gamerpics are only for the 360, or the entire DLC? I know this isn't finalized yet, but I'd hate to think it means us PS3 users could be left out.

Re: Two Weeks of Madden 09, and Official Patch News!

Thanks for opening the communication lined with your customers Ian. that much is very appreciated!!

but.. I kind of have a problem with your statement below

so, what would you like us as consumers who buy your product to do here? Just accept an incomplete game, and move on to hoping next year is better?
How about hiring some more people maybe and get it right the first time?

Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled that we are even able to directly communicate with EA now, but to suggest that we are holding you back from working on Madden 2010 because you are trying to fix a broken Madden 09 just does not work for me.

This is not the consumer's problem, and you should not be making a statement like this.

thats all and many thanks again for the open line of communication! we really needed this, as successful patch #2 is proof

Some of the issue addressed in the patch should make a world of difference. Here's to hoping that they are on the disc next year.

Re: Two Weeks of Madden 09, and Official Patch News!

http://www.easports.com/madden09/ful...twoweek_update

I have two quetions about this:

1. "And now that this patch is nearly out the door, I figured I'd drop some more good news... We have officially started building the "Sim Madden Gamer" DLC pack, which includes Accelerated Clock, a "Classic" Controller Configuration, CPU Sliders, and Community Gamerpics for 360."

They talk about the DLC like it will only be available for the 360, unless it is just misleading. Will it be available for the ps3 also?

2. "We have officially started building the "Sim Madden Gamer" DLC pack, which includes......."

So, is EA saying that Madden is officially an arcade football now, and if you want it to be a Sim game you need the DLC?

Other than that, all I can say is if they don't/can't put the cpu sliders back in the game I will be selling it. I still can't believe they intentionally left the sliders out in the first place. I hope they anounce soon if we will be getting the cpu sliders because as it is now my copy of Madden 09 is collecting dust waiting on this. It just isn't playable from a Sim standpoint without those cpu sliders. Trust me, I have tried to make it work with just the human sliders and it just isn't happening (**end of mini rant).

I also understand that the more time they spend on patches the less time they spend on 2010. However, how can they not patch and finish 09? Are they actually saying "we know 09 has more problems and is unfinished but we don't care, we are moving on to next years game and all of the people who bought 09 are suckers!!!!"
