Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Hands-On Preview (Gamespy)

What does "Wait a month and we'll see for ourselves" mean?

Does that mean 2K will have videos out of the gameplay, rid of any framerate issues?

Or does that mean buy it, and once you've bought it and played it you'll see the framerate isn't an issue?

In this economy I hope that the latter isn't the idea.

Can someone please elaborate?

When you pick this game up off the shelves, it will be running 60. Wait a month and you'll see for yourselves.
Excellent news. I was never doubting VC or their abilities and I mean if FPS problem is gone, then I see a nice game shaping up here compared to mlb 2k8. Here's to hoping it all pans out.

I'm sure we'll be hearing from Gamespot/IGN, etc in the weeks to come about the progress of the game (and hopefully the improved framerate) before it's released. However, it would be nice to get a little more assurance straight from 2K on their forum.
Wouldn't it be nice tho' if there were mods who actually worked on the games...I mean, not all the time of course, but they could pop in every once in awhile...After all, the Madden and HC guys post here, so why not?

After last year, you'd think that would have been the FIRST thing they fixed. Just about every sports game has figured out how to achieve 60 fps, yet two years in 2K still can't seem to... Hell, last year they removed half the crowd and couldn't do it, how do they expect to do it with this "living world" idea???

Bad, 2K, bad!!
Yeah, that is what befuddles me about the whole 'living' crowd thing...Sure that is cool, but does it REALLY matter in the end?..It seems like making a high quality SIM BB game is far more important.

Between that and player cards...IDK

Seems like there are better things to do

And this is why people like you sicken me, because you're so much smarter than I was to buy a PS3 instead of a 360.

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Hands-On Preview (Gamespy)

Why would they get rid of different umpire personalities? Not all umpires have the same exact strike zone. A huge part of pitching - especially for softer throwers - is getting those close calls on the black (or not getting them) on any given day. Making every single strike zone, for every umpire, the same exact thing is pretty stupid, in my opinion.

It just sounds like people get frustrated when an umpire doesn't call their pitch a strike. Oh well, it happens in real life, too, a lot. I don't see why that needed to be changed.

Hopefully the framerate issue is fixed.

Where was this reported?

From my work CPU I can't access the gaming sites that posted previews.

That upsets me too because having dynamic umpires is a definite PLUS - for any baseball game.
