The Deathraces were more exhilarating than Skate 1 (though they were generally easy) and i spent an entire afternoon going through the entire Hall of Meat challenges without getting bored...landing a 20-metre drop onto a ped can never be dull no matter how often i fail

I haven't played it online...

Read about this too and thanks to that trick, i conquered the last Pro challenge!
This is one of the few games I don't mind taking half an hour to complete a trick...sure, I'll yell at the TV when I screw up, but when I finally hit it you get that awesome accomplishment feeling. I'm not counting the SKATE type challenges, those just aren't fun IMO.

I just enjoy either running through career mode stuff (I honestly haven't tried a race yet, I enjoy the trick stuff for the mags right now), and also it's great with a group online! Really fun game.

I think I may pass till this drops after reading about the frustrations. The first skate rose my blood pressure every time I played it and I think i may have taken a couple months off my life with the level of anger that would insue trying to beat some of the challenges.

I don't think I can do that to myself again.

Oh, it's the same....the same fun, but you can spend an hour trying to hit the right grind, followed by a gap trick, and another grind, etc...

I'm getting better at not being that pissed at the game (compared to the first), but I still have my moments so I know where you're coming from lol.

And that is why this game is such an awesome representation of skating. That's exactly how it feels to really spend hours or days trying to nail a trick and when you finally pull it it's just an awesome feeling. After skating for 13 years I never entertained the thought of getting back into it until Skate came out last year. I still haven't geared up to get back into it (not sure my body could handle the street skating slams anymore at 34) but this game has given me the itch again.....and there's a sweet skatepark right near my house.

Re: Skate 2 Impressions

It seems as though the Skate 2 "Filmer Pack" was just released as DLC today for 600 MS Points:

Quote:
Upgrade skate.Reel with advanced camera controls for the replay editor, custom watermarks, expanded online storage (share up to 5 minutes of footage) plus extra gear for your skater. There are no refunds for this item. For more information, see www.xbox.com/live/accounts.
More Info Here.

Could be cool to get the extra time, and I'm sure you could make some pretty cool movies with it. Not sure what the extra gear is.

Re: Skate 2 Impressions

I couldn't find another post on here regarding this but I've been getting really frustrated doing online freeskate activities. For example, I do a group score accumulation event, the goal is 20,000 points, I end up getting 8-9,000 while the other 3 guys I'm playing with get like 1,000 points and we can't complete it.

Basically, I'd like to know if there's any other PS3 guys out there who are having similar problems and want to knock out these challenges together. My PSN ID is djwirth2 so feel free to add me, I play pretty much every night. Every other game I've played online with fellow OS'ers I've had a good experience with so I figured this could work out the same. Even if you're not into the freeskate activities, it would be nice to play with some other good sim type skaters.
