UNFORTUATLY there is nothing else to do but play a non-nfl game go BACK 5 years to 2k5 (yes made in 2004 just like Madden 09 came out in 08) or stick with madden. I have made my choice.

As for Ian. I dont know him but seems like it will be good for madden. BUT since he hasnt responed to this thread (guys gave good reasons why he cant) and since this thread has shown me what madden embraces, i dont have hope for Ian. One man can only do so much when things have gotton SO outta hand.

For everyone whos mad they pay cheesers $50,000. Keep in mind that money comes from a new madden each year that costs 60 for chages that could have been implemented with a patch or update (of course not all changes). I really feel madden should put a game out every 2 years and just have a ptch/update for the new rosters and featurs. WE would all save money and might get a better product it we dont make them rush everything every year.

Just another frustrated consumer who OWNS 09,08,and 07 and every year buy it with high hopes and every year stop and go back to old games. Nothing will change while people still pay 60 every year. I guess just a very long .02

Im sorry i dont feel like correcting typos. You get the point or the post and the point is NOT that i cant spell lmao.
i know ian "cant" respond.....but thats bad
last year ian said "madden 09 is the best madden game ever"
for 2-3 days people were clamoring it the greatest sports game ever then....BAM all the glitches & last years bugs come to fruitition and you realize "i just paid 60 bucks for the same game"

i honestly wish they could make 2 discs....1 for true simulation & 1 for the arcade people

the simulation one would have true nfl physics. true nfl gamecalling. everything would replicate the nfl to a T.
no corners cut for the "average football gamer"

the arcade disc can be what madden is now(madden 06,07,08,09 etc)

that would satisfy everyone across the board

but this will never happen.

i dont know how they can make madden from aug 12 until mid november (3 months) and be done with the core gameplay!?
that alone already told me what madden 10 is going to be.....same game, few tweaks & some last gen "feature" coming back that they will tout as a "new feature"

This is on ESPN right now, the finals match.

Besides all the cheesing, what is amazing is the guy that winds up losing has some obnoxious a-hole shouting in his face the entire time (not his opponent) and nobody does anything about it.

It looks like the reason he is going to lose is because of a fumble on a kickoff return.

eta: oops, guess was the semi-finals match.

If there's any justice the Captaine lost because he is one of those d-bags that always attempts 2-pt conversions and got stopped. Would have had an easy FG to tie at the end. And of course after talking trash all game he then starts pouting that the winner who was quiet all match tossed it back in his face.

I got some amusement out of the winner's off centered labret piercing and really lame tattoos.

These guys play Madden at it's highest levels and are always looking to stretch the limits of the game as much as possible. I totally agree that coverage against curl routes are totally flawed this year, and that the fullback dive (with motion) is way too effective. The challenge that players at that level take on is to try to find ways to stop, or at least contain, anything that can be exploited in the game.

No matter what kind of game EA makes, a majority of these elite-level players will still have success because they are usually the best at adapting to any changes Madden goes through version year, after version year. In the meantime, all we can do is enjoy the current version of Madden we have, and provide CONSTRUCTIVE feedback to EA about improving the game.

-Congratulations to Dynasty becoming Madden Challenge '09 Champion, and props to Captain/GetOffMeSon on a great run to the championship game!

I'm sorry, but I don't buy that being elite at playing Madden Challenge/Madden Nation rules means that they'd be elite in a sim style game. Why not say that the Unreal Tournament world champ would be the Madden world champ if he invested the time he spent at Unreal playing Madden instead. No disrespect to what they do, but it ain't anything like real football and to say that they'd be just as good at a game that played more like real football remains to be seen. Even just playing with longer quarters and some respect for personal boundaries could change things rather dramatically.

Re: Madden Challenge 2009: Crowning the World's Best Madden Player

I agree with Coach K on this one

If the game actually represented real football then the players wouldn't have to use the curls and fb dive every play.

The "Best" Players or Top "Ballers" only use these tactics because they put them in the best position to win. If the game wasn't broken and actually represented real football then they wouldnt be forced to play this way.
Madden is Madden and unfortunatley "it is what it is"
its a football game that if you want to be the best at you have to use tactics that aren't the most realistic but put you in the best position to win.
Not everyone chooses to play this way but the ones who consistently win are exploiting the game. blame the game dont hate the player
