Re: Madden NFL 10: Tuning Individual Characters

Michael, i haven't read through this entire thread so forgive me if this has been brought up.

With the currrent hardware being fairly advanced, coupled with the NFL license, i dont understand how by now there hasn't been true to life representations of each individual NFL player. Every single QB in the NFL has his own build, throwing motion and angle, the way they drop back etc. And this goes for ALL positions. I think the first year of next-gen (Madden 06) they actually tried to go this direction. Tiki Barber actually held the ball "high and tight" just like he did in reality.

I think overall, each individual player should be modeled after his real life counterpart. I know this is a massive undertaking to replicate every individual player, but at least the big stars of each NFL team would be a great start.

In terms of equipment edits, almost every NFL team has player pics on their website. Please give us the most customizable player editor ever in '10!!! I really do hope a ton of work is going into getting guys looking like their real life counterparts right out of the box.

If there was one thing that really annoyed me during the PS2 days was having to edit soo many player builds, weights, heights, equipment etc. All this information is highly accessible and should not be incorrect.

Thanks Stro. I PM'd Ian. I didn't think it would be so hard to get a simple yes or no answer from EA.

Maurice Jones-Drew needs a change. Currently he is the correct height but his proportions aren't right. By that I mean his in-game counterpart is really skinny and has small thighs. They don't call him pocket Hercules for nothing.

Re: Madden NFL 10: Tuning Individual Characters

This is next gen. I am not going to be super specific or anything. I'm just going to state obvious things that should be in a next gen game, things that have already been in the game and things that aren't currently in the game.
1. tatoos-all of them on everyone period, all the 2k basketball games have tatoos. to help you developers the tatoos can be blurry or not that specific when the camera is far away but on close shots, specify.
2.team color cleats. the shoe can be majority white but a large chunk of the shoe should be the teams color.
3.mouth pieces. (was already in the game before on last gen platforms)
4.scrapes should occur on the helmets throughout the game.(was already on last gen platforms) look anything that you already had in the game that really happens on the field why take it off if it still actually happens.
5.the equipment has come along way. i remember when u couldnt put anything on your arms if your player had sleeves on. but handwarmers should be added. the NFL and team logos shoud be an option when choosing arm equipment.but overall you guys have done a really good job with the equipment.

Re: Madden NFL 10: Tuning Individual Characters

I have a couple of complaints about equipment:

1) We should be able to fully customize each player for both warm and cold weather games. For example, Maurice Jones-Drew does not have sleeves in the equipment edit screen, but I played an exhibition game in the snow with him and he came out in White sleeves. That's my next point....

2) Each team should just have one sleeve color. The Jaguars wear black sleeves, so everyone on the team that wears sleeves should wear black--not some guys wearing white or teal.
