I wonder how the NEW Pitching Sliders are supposed to work cause from what I've seen it looks like they've remove the Balls & Strikes Sliders

IMO VC is taking a big gamble going that route making pitching totally depending on Inside Edge & Ratings to dictate how a pitcher is gonna pitch..

hmmm

some of those screenshots don't look too good...although I really like the camera options, especially for pitching...

what's with all the screens of pages of numbers? Couldn't we get gameplay screens instead?

If your talking about the black and white screens with the ratings listed, those are older. They were just a different format to show us all the ratings for each team.

all the ones of menus, Fenway, etc are the newer ones, mostly meant to show off the games options and certain features people were questioning, I'd imagine. I'm sure there is more to come.

The AI Strike Zone Tendency could be both the balls & strikes combined?

Lower = More Balls
Higher = More strikes

????

Idk, just a thought. I didn't get 2k8 so I'm probably way off.

this is a huge gamble IMO....it could potentially be a game killer for hardcore purists like me and some others here. Cubsfan mentioned that there is an AI strike tendency .....but even if this works for the cpu, what will make USER pitching challenging??

I've noticed that there is a meter pitching speed slider or something like that, but even at the highest difficulty, it could still be too easy for some after time with practice. I'm sure it will be difficult at first, but after you get the timing down , strikes might become too easy to throw .

but again, the demo will tell us more about this for sure.....

p.s-at least there is a pitch rating influence, so it's not TOTALLY dependent on user skill, but we will see if all these sliders can recreate a realistic and challenging user pitching experiencce....I hope so, because I am optimistic of this series' direction under VC.

I hear you on that. No harm no foul. We are all passionate baseball fans (or we would not be here). And we all want the best out of these two companies we can get. And you are right, BASEBALL CANT COME SOON ENOUGH.

To come out apologize in a public forum speaks a lot about your character. You gained much respect from me. And I apologize as well if I got you upset in any way.

LOL @ the Sisko pic, was a good show.

Anywho, back on topic!

More pics of the new Yankee Stadium please!

Again, I didn't really play last year's game, but there appears to be several things to make the user pitching more difficult.

Like you mentioned, the pitch meter speed would make it more difficult similar to how it did for MVP.

Lowering the Gesture Recognition would make you have to be extremely accurate with making the pitch correct or it would probably be a bad pitch. That probably would tie in with the Hold Timing and Release Timing sliders as well.

I think with a combination of those 4 things, you could manage to make pitching more difficult if needed.
