Too those who have not played the demo yet:

The demo is rough around the edges. First thing you notice is the cutscenes and animations are all out of wack. I hit a homerun and was rounding the bases when the starting lineup menu popped up. The announcers egnored the homerun and gave the lineup. No way this represents the final product. All replays and highlights are also removed from the demo. I think it was done that way to highlight specific features so you dont just glance over them. For example, if you want to just hit, you can switch back and forth between each team so you get a feel for hitting. Same goes for pitching. Baserunning has not changed at all from last year.

Things you notice right away:

1. The Presentation: Same as NBA 2K9 in every way. The colors and the backround of the startup screen for each game are the same.

2. When the ball hits the dirt little brown smoke clouds popup.

3. When ball go into the stands, a small cluster of fans reach up to try catch the ball.

4. Tracking flyballs is easier, the angle gives you a better read.

5. Hitting: pretty simple, pull back then push foreward.

6. Pitching: Less frustrating then last year. Either you will like it or hate it.

7. Graphics: Player faces need some work. Cole Hamels seamed to be spot on though. Seems to be alot of hit or miss with the player faces.

8. The fonts for numbers and name on both uniforms are the same. Again, I doubt the final product will reflect this.

Overall I like where it's going, I didn't expect it to be perfect and it's not, but I will give the final product a chance.

native for about 98% of xbox games and most games are native 720p or even less

the game should be played on 720p for maximum results...
Sorry for the mis-info. I just assumed it was 1080p since that's what the site says and all the ps3 games usually say the true native res. FIgured the 360 games were the same. So native 720p with 1080p upscaling? If that is the case then whoever said the game was much better on 1080p, was mistaken...

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here

Just played a game....and I hope I'm doing something wrong.

I hit a gap shot(two separate occasions...both to right-center)....I knew I had second both times....I hit the button to advance my guy as he reached first. He took second and was in easy...EXCEPT..he just ran past the bag and stopped...the ball came in to second and he was out.
I did not need to slide....so that wasn't it. I used the trigger to advance...
Am I supposed to be using a different button to advance my guy?

If no one else is on base I use lt or lb to advance to next base. Thing is unless I slide, the guy ALWAYS rounds the base and then comes back. Is that what you mean?
