Ok guys,
I'm not able to dl the demo,as I haven't got my high speed installed in our new home yet.

So what is the overall consensus?....I'm looking for input from TRUSTED Osers, not the "fly by night" cats who come out of the woodwork this time of year (it's easy to see who they are).

Compared to previous years, this demo is not bad at all, of course a few problems, but nothing that will make you not want to buy it, or at least I think so.

My major problem is the collision data, players walking through each other, the lack of celebrations when a walk off is hit, but other than that the game runs smooth, except for foul ball, but I'm sure they will take care of that before release.

The announcing is great, way better than John & Joe, the presentation is good. The graphics are a lot better than previous years. I dl'd 2K7 and 2K8 and compared and this looks 10 times better than 2K8.

I actually thought NBA 2K9 looked essentially the same on both, but seeing as how this is VC's first attempt at baseball on both, I could definitely see the scenerio playing out with the 360 version looking better.

Guess we'll find out Thursday, haha.

I wonder how this thread will hold up if the PS3 version sucks... yikes.
Yeah I agree NBA 2k9 on PS3 was much less clearer.
I hope MLB 2k9 doesnt have that washed out blur look

Ahh my young juice deprived friend. lol I said that the pitching and the hitting was the best ever and I still stand by that. 2K's implementation of pitching and hitting is fantastic. I love the idea. Problem was when the ball hit the bat the game fell apart but even now it's better but still not solid.

Thanks for the info tj.
Everything seems to sound alot better, although I was also able to get some enjoyment out of 2k8 as well...and that game got nothing but slammed...lol.

I'll admit I just skimmed through this thread, but it was REAL easy to see who the "fly by nighters" are/were.

It sounds like I will definitely get some enjoyment out of this years game also, and that's all I ask....just give me some enjoyment...lol

Thanks again tj.

Oh yea...it also makes the purchase easier since my wife is a long time Dodger fan,so "convincing" her won't be difficult..lol

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here

I had the opportunity to test drive the demo and was kind of back and forth on some things mainly the hitting. I know the demo was on a lower difficulty but there seemed to be nothing really interactive with it. My main question is if there is any sort of hit quality penalty for leaving the batter in the coiled position too long? In the demo it did not seem to be the case. I would hope there is one on the higher levels because if there is not the user is basically circumventing the system to a one step process along the lines of a button press.

Also, there seems to be a loss of feeling or connection when hitting the ball as to the quality of the hit or even the depth. I think the bat sounds have a lot to do with this in selling the different bat on ball hit qualities. In the demo so far I feel it comes up short. I am not really talking about the sound aesthetically but doing the job of selling the type of hit. I should feel/hear a difference from a ball that gets sent to the wall as opposed to being dunked over the infield.

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here

Well, just played 3 innings in which both pitchers through 37 pitches - combined. 6-7 pitches per half inning.

This game has too much Hack-a-Way, just like every 2K before it. Can't walk vs. the AI, and the AI hacks and connects at anything close -- and pitches that seem off the plate are called strikes, too.

Oh, and pitches up and in? - almost always a HBP vs. lefties.
