We are very aware of these problems and we would like to announce that we are indeed working on a patch to fix the most glaring offline and online bugs and glitches you have encountered in this years game. When the patch is ready for deployment we will give an update with the contents of the patch. In meantime, we have found a work around for one of the most glaring bugs, the Road to the Show crash. If you skip all training sessions (batting and base running) during the month of September you should be fine. We know this is not ideal, however until the patch is ready for public release this will allow you to continue playing your RTTS save files (if the save file is before entering a training session). We take these issues and concerns very seriously and we do apologize for the inconvenience. Once again, thank you for your time and your patience. We will update the community as soon as the patch release date is set.

MLB The Show Development Team
You are most welcome and thank you very much in return.

Has anyone figured out a way to control these damn rosters in season/franchise mode? I see that there have been some patches discussed, have any been released yet? It's really annoying some of the lineups the cpu throws at me. Please let me know. Thanks. -Dan

Re: MLB 09 The Show Patch Announcement From the MLB Development Team

I truly don't understand why we can't get more information. I work for a software company, and whenever we are working on releasing a patch or service pack for our software, we have a general idea of enhancements and a time frame for when it will be done, and we let our customers know as soon as we know anything. The only thing I can think of is that SCEA thinks that they can't fix some of the more prevalent issues, and therefore do not want to list them from the get go. However, as members of the MLB community, I think we should be given more updates and details into the process. We have all waited patiently for these issues to be fixed, and someone from SCEA should be able to answer some of our questions at this point. They should have a strong idea of whether or not we have to restart our season/franchise. You'd have to think that when Russell started this post, they were probably already a couple of weeks into the whole process, and its already been 2 weeks since he started the thread. We STILL have not gotten updates. I understand that things have to go through the QA process and what not, but as a developer, I also know that at this point, you should already know what your limitations are and what you can accomplish.
What's the deal?

Re: MLB 09 The Show Patch Announcement From the MLB Development Team

I am new to MLB 09 the Show and this forum. I just bought a PS3 for this game. So far I love the game I just have some questions and hope someone will answer.

Why do the lineups keep getting changed. I play the Phillies and they always have Howard hitting 3rd and Utley hitting 4th even if I change it the computer changes it back in franchise. Is the update going to fix this? Also loading rosters online for minor league players losing the historical stats?

My other thing I am wondering is why do pitchers lose all of their energy after pitching 70 pitches? I mean guys like Santana, Beckett and other power pitchers who can throw 100+ pitches.

Why does the computers outfielders seem like they can fly and catch every gap shot and deep line drives near the wall. Any way to fix that with a slider?

Again I am sure some of these questions have been answered but it would be a great help to me to understand this game and what I can change with it. Also, when is this update expected i've been putting off my franchise for two weeks now waiting.

Amen. We have waited patiently and all we want is an update. We are indeed customers, it's not like we just downloaded this game for free. I feel like getting strung along sometimes.

And they are stringing us along because.......?

For what it's worth, bugs and glitches cannot be fixed unless they are recreated exactly how they happened. We were shown how this works at the event. SCEA has asked us to help them and there is a thread for this. SCEA has been communicating with this community for years and it should be appreciated, I'd think. Ever look at the CREDITS when they roll at the end of the game?

No matter of complaining in this thread fixes anything. If you can't be patient though, continue on, but stringing us along?

Yea, put OF speed to 0 or 1, drop OF arm strength down about 1 or 2 from default.
I don't have a problem at all with SP fatigue, personally.
Don't know for sure if the update will fix the lineup/rotation problem (this problem is well documented all over this forum, lol), but it is the single biggest problem for me personally. It honestly drives me bonkers! Why does this happen? Your guess is as good as mine, but there really seems to be a LOT of database problems with the game this year.
I recently started a franchise with the last SCEA update (the one before this newer one). All the historical stats looked fine. 3 games into my franchise, in the paper, it shows that C. Villanueva of the Brewers broke the all time saves lead with 500+ saves. I don't think he was ever a closer before this year, lol. So I had to trash that franchise, and start all over.
