1. My favorite so far (for the time it was released) was 2005. This was better then 2k5 for me.

As a side note, once all of these additional player ratings were added to the game (all working would be nice ) it is hard to go back. To me, it really really adds a lot because it creates difference other then basically speed and a rating or two difference between one player an another. Basically, if you had a QB with 99 THP and 99 THA with 99 AWR they were all the same (other then speed), which I can't stand. Hoping to add this year this list and be the first real year where I can FEEL the difference from one player to another.

I'm going with Madden 2001 on N64. My son and I used to play with the teams you could unlock - I miss that feature. We had a blast playing with The Sugarbuzz, Mummies, etc on their cool fields...and all the other Madden cards and cheats, too.

madden 2005: collector's edition. ps2. hands down. the best. everything is just right. the emphasis on defense. the hit stick. the additional historic playoff teams. and no vision cone too. still playable because i play this one with the historic teams. about 40 or so with named rosters.

But i would loved 04 cuz it was the first madden game i played. That is only because Nfl Gameday was bad. So i told my dad lets try out madden 04 and we loved it played it all the time. The good times

I can't believe noone mentioned Madden '93 Championship Edition on the genesis. 100 teams! Best console football game ever.

I'll have to go with PS2 Madden 2001 (whatever was the very first one to come out on ps2), and the current 2009 version is a beast of a game
