Re: NCAA Football 10 Exclusive Interview Week #1

I commend the guy on the interview, at least he didnt lie. Even though all the information given seemed like a let down, at least he gave info.

Having said that, its time for whoever it is that calls the shots on the NCAA dev team to step down and do something else.

I dont know who is in charge of what does or what doesnt happen in this franchise, but its time for them to go. College football has gone from a must have game since I started playing Bill Walsh football back in 92 I think, to pure garbage.

Strides have been made in every imaginable way in all other sports games, yet the NCAA series is as stale as 10 year old moldy bread.

Take a look at all the advances that have been made in the FIFA and NHL series. Look at MLB the Show....I hate baseball and the things that game has accomplished is amazing. Look at how 2k introduced presentation and player interactions on a scale that hasnt been matched in the almost 6 years since it was released.

The 2010 season is releasing soon and we STILL havent gotten back the same options in next gen games that we had 10 years ago on other sports games. Create a team? ...I remember creating teams in Play action football on the Super Nintendo. Highlights as part of presentation? I remember having that back in 92-94 or so on Madden. Commentary? It changed more on a yearly basis on Sports talk football from 92, 93, 94 than it has changed on NCAA in the previous 8 years. Played NCAA 02 religiously in Korea on Xbox since we had nothing else to do, 90% of the commentary from 09 can be heard on 02 as well.

NCAA team, whoever is in charge of what yall do or dont do is a disgrace to modern video game developers.

The reason we still post is because we care so much. If I didnt like college football I wouldnt even post here, however its my most beloved sport and it frustrates me to no end that you continuously release a subpar product and if I want to have a college football game, your the only one avaliable.

The most frustrating aspect to all of this is that you have all the information you need from communities on the internet availible to you for free. You know what the customer wants, and have known for years...yet every year you ignore the community and break aspects of the game only to fix it in the yearly update and call it a new feature.

That man would be named Jeff Luhr, who (not surprisingly) has made ZERO appearances on the OS NCAA board..

Just to fuel the fire a little bit. This is a quote I just saw from Phil, one of the main guys on the Madden team.

Superstar wasn't a focus for us this year. You all have seen the heavy focus on gameplay (Pro-Tak and much more). We've got some big stuff in online that will be announced soon, and Franchise is getting a lot of tuning, bug fixing, and a new show called The Extra Point. On top of all this, lots of time spent on presentation this year. Simply put, we tried to focus on the fundamentals and what is core to the Madden NFL Franchise.

I wouldn't expect any big Superstar feature announcements this year but the feature is of course included in Madden NFL 10.

Phil
Imagine the buzz on this board if someone with this mentality were working on the game..Its also funny that Campus Legend is going to be one of the main things getting upgraded in 2010..

Simply baffles me. Each game has done the exact opposite of the other.

Basically you can go through all the formations of your playbook and sub in players for that particular formation. For instance if your primary back is a speed back but you want your lower rated power back in for goaline plays you could set it up with formations subs. Or as Windsocks mentioned, if you want to handpick which players are on special teams, you would do it through formation subs.

You're thinking of package subs, which is limited to certain preset options (i.e. flipping wr's, subbing in the backup rb or qb, etc.). Formation subs means being able to go in and substitute at any position as the user sees fit.
