Re: Blog is up

Hard to really get a feel for anything gameplay related there. Seemed like they were playing on a pretty low difficulty setting. It is worth noting, however, that there isn't anything shown in the video that looks all that different, from a gameplay perspective, from last year. Don't see a huge difference in terms of the pocket, in terms of the run blocking AI/assignments, and I didn't see any plays in the playbooks that weren't already in '09. One thing that I do notice is that some of these run block animations appear to be new, and in line with the run block improvements that Ian Blogged about on Monday. Particularly in the Cal-Maryland clips, you can definitely see Olinemen trying to steer DL out of a certain gap. I notice a new switch called "chew clock" at the main playcall screen (where you select gameplan and can choose to ask Corso). Wonder what that's about.

The problem with run commit as they have it on this game is that it's just really limited in terms of effectiveness. A lot of online players who do the kind of stuff that it's designed to stop (running speed options with a non-QB player in at QB) will do it to either side, so it would be too much of a gamble to try and commit. They really need to re-work the way that the run commit portion works. In reality, it should probably just be run commit and pass commit, rather than having run left, mid, and right. Really, all that I want run commit to do is make it so that my LBs and Safeties play the run aggressively (i.e. creep up, and attack the run gaps on any run action).

In terms of the way that I see it playing out, I think that most people will end up really only using the pass commit option, because it's too much of a gamble to try and guess run direction.

Does EA really need 3 videos to cover SS?

You posted the score to a game that happened two years ago, in case you didn't notice.

I could understand maybe getting the race wrong on a player on a small team, but we are talking about one of the best WR in the game. There is only one #1 on Oklahoma State's offense and it's him. To me, that is unbelievable.

One last thing, those two don't look like they have played a lick of football lol. At least Ian has some potential that he could have
Well, if it bothers you that much, then just change it when you get the game!

Jersey that blog and video are actually way more game play oriented than ss. ss is just sort of the backdrop to the whole thing.
