I'm VERY happy to see that they're adding it as a slider though.
I already run into people who spam body shots, and they can do so without consequence because of the stamina. Tweaking the stamina will make defending it very manageable because they'll only be able to throw so many at you at a time.

Excellent!! While I happen to like TPC I'm glad EA is listening to their customers on the buttons issue. While I'll probably never use them at least those who wish to will have that option. The other DLC sounds cool too...looking forward to it...it's a great game!

"Now though I almost want to go back to the buttons. I’m finding the stick to be inconsistent and too mechanical in nature. Rarely am I able to counter and in many cases I’m having to think about the type of punch and motion involved instead of going off reaction. This is especially the case with haymakers where you’re required to hold the RB which is incredibly awkward. I pretty much have forgotten about attempting to put combinations together. Not to mention that frequently I’m making motions with the stick and no punch comes or the wrong one is thrown.
The ironic thing is that one of the main reasons for removing the buttons was due to imbalance vs the analog stick with online. What that actually means is the buttons were more effective and precise. Now you just have people online stick “mashing” basically meaning nothing has changed. A proper fatigue system could’ve balanced things regardless of the control scheme being used. However people are throwing punches like crazy and not having to pay for it. Against the wrong person online it makes for a very frustrating experience."

It's called PRACTICE

Now, don't get me wrong. Having buttons is good for giving the consumer options, but padre is way off. It is not that difficult to learn the system, and once you learn it, putting precise, smart combinations together is smooth. I suggest doing the heavy bag combo training for those that think it's too hard...

Amen! - I'm going to have to get all my old games out and stomp my feet and see if I can get other developers to release some more patches so I can stop adapting all together. Thanks button babies! - LOL J/K

One more quick note, and then I'm done with this. One of the best combinations I've found is to throw a straight to the body, then a left hook to the head. It's difficult to block them both (hard to see it coming), it rarely leaves you open for a counter, and does good damage. But it's HARD to pull off. You have to hold L1, press up/right, then roll the hook. Same goes for the basic combo: jab, straight, left hook: tough to pull off consistently, good damage, and you rarely get countered.

What's my point? The point is that smart combinations that won't leave you wide open but do decent damage are difficult to pull of with the stick. They take thought and skill to set up and execute. They also would be MILES easier to pull off with buttons. So for me, it's not about button mashing. It's about EA adding a level of skill to the game.
