I'm happy and mad, never thought that could happen. Getting my complaint out the way by saying, I'm p***ed because NCAA10 doesn't play nor is it anywhere near to what the Madden 2010 Demo has thrust upon my feeble mind. Maybe I'm just overreacting because I only had a chance to play the first quarter on lunch, but 10 minutes of Madden enlightened my otherwise dreary day. From my short run through it seems like everything anyone has ever complained about in a football game they put it in there. Stats pop up on screen nearly every play, team history facts, even attendance numbers (i.e they told me it was about 23000 Arizona season ticket holders that were attending the game). Gameplay is silky smooth IMO. The computer makes smart juke moves i.e Holmes hurdled my corner towards the sidelines, my safety had a "big hit" all lined up but instead of a collison he juked back inside for more yardage before being brought down!! Even though I was embarassed on the play it felt good to know the computer won't let me waltz through them anymore. Another thing I enjoyed not sure if it just slip by me but no more suction tackling. Every tackle that was made in my game looked realistic. Tackling is even a little harder, if you give up before your guy is on the ground your giving up six (trust me it happened to me, lol). Right now I feel like a 6 year old waiting on Santa, I'm really in shock. EA better be careful because now that they have set the bar this high there is NO turning back...

Sorry for the fanboy post, but I've never seen anything close to this in a sports game.......

I can't post the link because I don't have 5 posts yet.

"Controller Reference"
This is currently found on the "GAMEPLAY" settings screen.
***NOTE*** As of this update (2/6/2009) it appears likely that the 'multiple controller config' task will be completed. If it does, this menu link will most likely cease to be "Controller Reference" and become "Controller Configuration". Please see that GDD for details.
Ok. I've played both demos now, and what is absolutely MADDENING (excuse the pun) is that this is the most stripped down demo I've ever seen and they don't even give you a lousy picture of the basic controller controls. I guess the demo is exclusively for people who bought last year's version ONLY and know what the basic control scheme is and assume it's the same as last year.

But everyone who didn't buy Madden 09 last year and anyone who is looking at this demo thinking about buying the game for the first time to see what the fuss is about is going to be clueless how to control things from these demos.

And I guess I'm going to have to get a really good return policy because...

1) They seem afraid again to tell me if there is only one control scheme again. Ok, fine, but at least could I see a pic of what it is in the demo?
2) I read about a bad rules glitch on another board someone already came across.
3) I just started my first game on All-Madden and came out in a simple man defense with no blitzes on first down, and ol' Ben throws it right to my guy who runs it in 25 yards for the TD. (This is in the clear game, not the snow game, and no one came near Ben.) THIS is how the AI plays on first and ten in All-Madden???

BTW, I also got NCAA 10 and I actually like it this year, customizable controls, and with a good team the AI plays great on Heisman. At least in the almost 50 games I've played the AI QB hasn't thrown an easy TD to my team without being pressured like I just saw Ben and the Steelers do on All-Madden level in this demo.

I have my worries...

I haven't played the demo yet, but i have watched appexisfree's videos of it on youtube. I still see some things in the game that EA Sports fail to improve, like the suction blocking, the messed up AI awareness, and the running backs getting stuck behind their blockers. I have also seen some improvements like the quick juke and a better user catch system. I also have to say that the new pro tac feature acts a little crazy. It seems like a tackler would rather wrestle the ball carrier down than the lay a big hit on him.

Pittsburgh just had they way with me, but it's cool. I like the slower gameplay and at least we have the option to tamper with the gamespeed if we desire to. Good to finally play a different feeling gamenot like they reboxed the later years copy
