Wish the AI was more strategic and conservative when striking(This could be the reason for all the flash KO, but like someone said, I flash KO'd someone with a jab..)

I wish that there was a consequence to throwing big shots like a hugh loss in stamina and/or proned to get counter more easily, as of now we have neither...

Hopefully the AI will get tougher in the retail version, maybe the adaptive AI is turned off in the demo???
there is a consequence to throwing big shots. you are more suseptible to counters and in turn KO's

those who dont want to shine, i have found another way. click and hold the right stick. wait roughly 3 seconds, and let go. if its a kimura or an armbar, you will see them crank the hold, and it occasionally works. same stamina rules apply, but if you hold too long, you will be flipped into a disadvantageous position.

Well this is a bit of a disappointment. I haven't tried it with anyone but Rua, but at the start of the round go to the middle and tap gloves, then use forward and X (360) for that hook, and the AI will back up to the side or something and you'll throw a few elbows and usually the 3rd or 4th one stuns your opponent. I've not yet KO'd them from that part, but it basically led to me getting into dominant position again within the next minute and KOing them.

I tried it against all 3 opponents; Rashad seemed the easiest. It worked every single time. Machida a few time ducked out of the way and took me down, but usually it worked on him too. Rampage it seemed fine against as well.

So basically there's an auto "rock the AI within 10 seconds" bit of cheese.

My favorite two ways to handle the first stun is with the Thai Clinch and a knee, or if they fall, RB and dive and going into the standup position and raining down punches.

I was getting killed by Rampage using Rua, I must have done the same thing without knowing about this. I hit him with 3-4 elbows and he was rocked, couldn't finish it then, but got him later in the round.

I still think they could do away with the shine if they really wanted to. You have a guy shoot for a takedown and if you can flick the stick and time it you'd sprawl or you enter the fight for the takedown position where the CPU determines using factors like stamina, takedown offense and defense to determine whether you get takendown or you end up stuffing it.

Submissions would be a little more difficult to figure out but it's basically the way it's suppose to work now with it factoring everything plus spinning the stick which doesn't even seem to matter on expert it's almost instant tap if you get put in a submission by Rua and Machida. I just hate the idea of having to wear down a guy for a submission. If you've got a high submission offense rating and you're playing against a guy with bad submission defense and you get mount round one and apply a submission I think that should almost be instant tap. The way it is now, the guy will usually get out of it.

I just posted 2 posts before this a way to get subs without the shine. I dont knpw all the intricacies of the system, but you can get finishes by holding the right stick in, waiting about 2-3 seconds. and release. you see them try to "crank" the submission. If you hold too long, you will get flipped. and if you miss it seems that it takes longer for your stamina to regain. but it is an alternative to the shine. there are risks though

LOL. I found the same thing this morning. Rashad works best since he is the fastest but Rua is also nice because if they take you down just omoplata out of the guard back standing. Also a easy way to beat the cpu is to keep backing up and stay right outside their LB power hook range. After they throw their hook they are now inrange of your LB hook so let it rip. I'm like 10-0 using this method. The cpu is just crazy aggressive and just doesn't compensate for this tactic. Its sad that so much cheese is being found. Last years issues with people just running in elbowing seems to have gone unnoticed by the developers because I can stand there and throw a 100 elbows in a row all at the same speed.
