Passing feels better, running feels about the same. Defense is still under appreciated and the AI is exactly the same. Compared to what NCAA did this year Madden 11 will be another flop.

It's very sad what the Madden franchise has become, it's not even EA's best football game anymore.

I disagree. I think based on the retail impressions , this game will be good. I was worried about the demo, but then looked for specific things in it that were positive. I think the core is there

Just finished first game on xbox 360 demo, on Pro level. I was the Jets and I beat the Colts 23-10. Shonn Greene had 27 carries for 184 yards and 3 TD's... Yet throughout the game, I found no excitement and was very disappointed with the entire presentation and atmosphere throughout. What's with the coin toss this year... it's just a text line at the beginning of the game?... and Gus Johnson is annoying and over-acting his lines, and his commentary doesn't flow right at all... I've read about the dead silence throughout the demo so I won't comment on that... but I swear... Gus Johnson just screams for no reason... he got more excited about an extra point than when I broke a 56 yard run with Greene... The crowd is way too quite and the actual game presentation no where near simulates what it is like when you watch a game on tv... I also hate the far away camera..

Pass coverage needs a lot of work. I was able to go 22/23 with Sanchez on All-Pro and 17/20 on all-madden. I don't remember the stat line from my other 2 games but the passing was extremely easy and I normally suck at it. It seems as though the DBs don't even react. Manning threw a bomb into double coverage (cromartie and the FS in coverage) and neither defender even moved a muscle despite having the receiver sandwiched.

If they can fix the awful coverage then I will be extremely pleased with this game as the rest was fine.

I've now played a couple more games... exact same opinion I have stated earlier, but the other thing I definitely noticed is the shear lack of penalties. In 3 games, I've seen ONE roughing the passer penalty, and that's it... no holding, no offsides, no false starts... which always happen at least a few times ina every game.. hopefully it's just another demo thing

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here

After spending more time with the demo, I think I might like this game more than NCAA (and I'm an NCAA guy). I really like how the teams and players play like their real life counter parts. The Colts feature a strong passing game, not so good run offense, and a fast defense that is very stout. On the other hand, the Jets can run the ball much better, Sanchez is not as accurate, and their D will blitz like crazy. The two players that really stand out are Manning, who is very accurate, and Revis, who basically shuts down whoever he's covering. It looks like EA has finally made the teams and players play like they do in real life. At least I hope so... One of the biggest issues that I've had with Madden in the past is that every team played the same, so it was very boring in that respect.
