Speaking of chaining subs, is their a sweet spot when to press A? I'm hit and miss w/ it
Well I dont want to make it sound negative. This is the first career mode where I feel like I can lose a fight without it being BS. My biggest issue with career is that they dont give you the toughest fighters. I have defended my belt 7 times but keep facing the up and coming fighters not the guys who have all their stats in the 80's. When fighting guys with the good stats its a good fight.

I think I have only chained one submission but I usually miss. Im thinking Im doing it right but the other guys hitting A is what blocked me.

I would recommend moving up the difficulty. The fights do get harder because the guys you face will have better stats, but as a submission specialist, you wont face as many of those. If you just focus on going for a takedown then trying for a sub(Which you have to do against guys with good stand-up), you will get wins pretty quickly. Lengend IMO is a very fair balance except for AI being able to take a guy with 33 choke submissions and choke a guy with 95 choke submissions.
Submission defense is tied to grapple defense, not submission rating. Submission rating is offensive only.

Thanks guys, I'll leave it where it is and think about moving it up later if it stays super easy.

Well Im in Mystic so there arent really any strong guys in that league, but at the same time the #2 ranked fighter doesnt get a title shot and he has the best chance to beat me.

Where did you get that info because I disagree.

sb24, I just got to Strikeforce last night and only had one fight before turning off the PS3. When you win any of the SF or Mystic titles, do you get to defend them afterward which is what it sounds like from your comments? I am surprised as to why we couldn't defend the titles in the lower leagues unless I missed something. I wouldn't have minded defending the title in the lower league and than at some point the contracts come in from other leagues to join them.

Someone asked yesterday if we can bring in any CAF's that we download into the career mode and when I tried you couldn't. I had to create another new fighter, unless there is an option hidden somewhere in the menus, you have to create someone from scratch. How much I wish that we can take a younger version of any of the current fighters through the career as if they were starting out. I guess we just have to create the best versions of them that we can through CAF.

This game is a blast though. I just wish I could just take a few things from UFC, like presentation and parts from their career mode making this a very good career mode. I like that the fight cards are titled, but make the PPV/Show feel and look like one. I would have loved to have control over the entire card if I decided to also play any of the other fights.

I tried the classic controls last night for the first time and they just feel so weird when compared to using the total control. I will stick with using total control, it is just so much easier all around and better imo.

Yes you win the title around 20-25 fights and there are 40 fights total in your career. The reason you dont defend the other belts is because you left the league to go to a better one.

Thanks. Does career mode just end than at some point, like you retire or it just point blank finishes?
