Exclusive deals hurt games. Backbreaker wasnt an Awesome game as à nfl game . But it was fresh and has great promise . Madden is stale. And 2 k always felt more immersive.

The devs talking about 2k11 and how they don't like it because they lose sometimes and how complicated it is. That was the point where I lost all of my remaining trust in the leading devs. Just sad.

Re: Madden Sales Down 18% Y-o-Y in October

One more nugget as to how far apart the madden devs are from their fans. This was taken off the MLB The Show Online Community Forum, describing their new mode, Real Time Presentation Mode:

"Dear sports fans,

In a continued effort to blur the lines between a video game and a televised broadcast, MLB 10: The Show is proud to introduce the brand new presentation mode: Real Time. Available with replays or without, Real Time is a new presentation mode designed to further enhance the realism our baseball simulation offers you, the baseball fan.

Hoping to have you question whether you’re playing MLB 10: The Show or watching a live baseball game on TV, we’ve captured hundreds of new animations and have done extensive work with both our AI and our cameras. From the pitcher toeing the rubber until the next batter walks up to the dish, you’ll experience continuity with the seamless animations and positional intelligence of each player on and off the field. All new camera angles and cut-timing capture the player’s new movements and further enhance the presentation mode by mimicking the camera work seen on televised MLB broadcasts. Post-play has never looked this real....."

After showing a couple of examples.

"So why did we add Real Time presentations to MLB 10: The Show? What’s the point? Well our goal is simple. We want Real Time presentations to give baseball fans a new and real way to view our game."

You see the difference between devs who "get it" and the Madden developers who cant???
ATTENTION TO DETAILS!!
amazing...

Yep, exactly how I feel... tired of the half truths, and half azzed modes! Added modes that no one really wanted and pretending they are listening to the community(imo). I'm glad sales are down because it makes me feel that my boycott of the game actually mattered. Are they really going to listen now? We'll see, but I got through my NFL gaming withdraws so the next boycott will be even easier.

Re: Madden Sales Down 18% Y-o-Y in October

Isn't it sad that we have basically gone an entire gaming generation/lifecycle without a truly awesome NFL game? I mean, even if you are a Madden fan and want to say some of the games this gen have been decent or good, I don't think anyone can honestly say any of the games have been mind-blowing.

This will be the first generation where the football games have gotten worse, rather than better. I mean, it went from 10-yard fight --> Tecmo --> Madden (genesis) --> Madden (PS2)/NFL2k (Dreamcast) --> NFL2k5 ---> flatline. If I could add in a chart (for you Powerpoint addicts), it would be a steady line going up from left-to-right before a sudden sharp downturn this gen.

Think back 5 years ago; is this where we thought football games would be right now? I sure thought they'd be light-years beyond where they are right now. Look at how much better hockey, basketball, and soccer have gotten from last gen to this current gen. Then look at football....just makes me shake my head. What a waste. This has been a completely lost generation for football games.

It's truly sad, especially when the NFL is the most popular sport in the country, smashing TV ratings records and so on. If you told me 5 years ago, I still wouldn't be able to throw a successful fade route in Madden today, I'd of thought you were nuts.

Madden's popularity is undoubtedly fading. It's become a bore, people will buy it, play it for a month (maybe), and then it's done. It has no replay value, since you're playing the same broken game every year. I remember a time where the Madden launch was as exciting as something like a new COD game. Now it's so irrelevant. Until they tear it all down and give us a brand new experience, expect sales to keep fading.

Guys, let's not turn this into a "they don't have the talent" and they're going half-assed discussion.

I didn't keep m11 either, but lets talk about the game, not the devs.

One thing I have no doubt over is that the devs on this title work their asses off

Fixed.
