Man what, I've just come to the conclusion that EA isn't capable of producing fluid, life like animations like 2ksports does. Everything just looks so stiff.

That's why I think Tuesday is paramount because they will need to address how this all effects User control too. With the current game play view, passing in Madden, under the current player movement conditions, can essentially be toss and catch to yourself, as the User. You know where you are placing the ball as the User controlled QB in relation to the receiver and if you can easily take User control of the intended receiver to go after the ball, you override the receiver's sight.

Tuesday will be interesting. lol

So what exactly about my post do you disagree, if anything?
This right here:

I constantly read complaints about how EA football games are fundamentally broken and how they need to take the time to repair the code, not just "band aid" it. However, now they claim to be doing that, not just trying to throw a bunch of features and "shortcuts" in the game but actually take the time to address core next-gen issues and people seem to focus on other things.
Nothing in that vid showed any evidence of them actually repairing fundamentally broken code. As I pointed out, the passes can very easily still be tied to wrs like they always have and the icon dimming can be another band aid to address that. Given the game's history, this is what I expect actually.

I get the feeling you want to chastize me for not being impressed with them addressing the fundamental issues of the passing game. Meanwhile, I'm still trying to see if they truly addressed their broken passing game at all.

It's like when they release a screen shot about uniforms and people post about everything under the sun except uniforms. lol. I am just saying there is a proper time and place for things, imo.
BFnD the problem is that the video also didn't show any of those things it was talking about. It showed couple quick clips or stuff that looked very similar to NCAA 12.

Oh you want me to just believe Physic DB no longer exist. Then why is defender doing it in the video? Oh you want me to believe all these 20 new pass trajectory are in game? Sure didn't look like it to me. Oh now the icons must "turn on" for me to throw the ball.......Nanos will destroy this all game long. Plus why am I penalized if I want to quickly hike and throw. Look at what Drew Brees use to do throwing back shoulder to WRs they were not "ready" for the ball and most the WR never got a eye on it. It was practice repetition that resulted in the WR and QB being on same page.

All I am trying to say is judging the video based off that THE VIDEO FOOTAGE is completely logical. It is what should happen, why.......because it shows the game lol. Does it still run and move like NCAA 11 & NCAA 12........YES. Do we still see funky line play...........YES. This is not off topic, it is analyzing the film.

Should I turn a blind eye to the funky animations till they say "This video is about animations"? My point is I can look at something and make a observation on it, I don't need EA's go ahead to make those observations.

They are capable, they aren't willing to.

The FIFA games look fairly fluid (but I am not a soccer fan in real life so I could easily be wrong if thats considered stiff compared to how they actually play)

It's been a disappointing generation for football and it bothers the hell out of me.

As I said, I think this is a valid conclusion. They've never been great with animations and on the new systems that is more visible than it was last gen. Last gen, they could not match 2k's OL vs DL animations, tackling/break tackle, CB technique in terms of riding the WR's hip ect. And now with their emphasis on short branching animations I think as guys who play these games we are stuck with what we have. The way they do mo-cap also plays a role into how some of this stuff looks. The decisions that have been made are playing a big role in what we see now.

It definitely would be nice to be able to customize the ratings screens, so that you could pick which ratings are shown and which are hidden for a given position. Maybe even what order they show.

Hell, more advanced sorting options would cut down a lot of the time sifting through rosters, prospects.

As I said in another thread. Why is it that just because we are disappointed with what we see, we then give them more credit by saying they are capable but not willing. What if the actual fact is that they are willing and not capable? I'm not going to say either way, but I think the question has to be entertained. People always say, well they are just not trying. If they had competition this game would be x, y and z. I used to say that stuff too, but now, I am starting to entertain the other position. What if having competition is not going to mean a hill of beans and the game that you get from them now would actually be the game you get even if they had competition. The decisions they made with tech and what to do with it are the decisions they made. Competition would probably not change that.
