So I just had a WR doing a streak. He was wide open because his man blitzed. Right before I got sacked, I launched this ball, and threw it to the sideline. The WR wasn't looking, but knew to run out to the sideline to catch the ball.

Just watched my Alabama #2 WR make a great diving catch across the middle on a pass I put low and in front of him to avoid the FS.

I REALLY like the passing.

Hopefully people realize playing with a team isn't the same as actually being that team..

If I choose Georgia Tech and throw for 600 yards it's not the game being "unrealistic"

Agreed. I actually won games with KU last year. That's incredibly "unrealistic".

Passing...at least with Matt Barkley...has been a joy so far.

Timing the comeback routes when a DB turns their hips to cover deep just feels right. Even when a DB doesn't turn to cover, if they are shaded inside, holding the RS down and away will put the ball on the opposite hip of the receiver, allowing him to use his body against the DB. I know this has been advertised as a feature in the past, but it just seems like its implemented much better this year.

Leading your receiver to a spot is another area of HUGE improvement. I ran my wideout on an out-and-up-post...he stutter stepped on his break for the out route, then blew past the DB covering him on route to the skinny post. The defense had safety help over the top from the opposite side of the field, and where it would have been an INT in NCAA 2012, I was able to lead the receiver away from the safety help...completely changing his route from a post to a corner allowing him to make an over the shoulder catch keeping the safety away from the ball. The QB / WR relationship is very pleasing to watch.

In short...the passing game has seen a massive improvement so far. Not sure how much of a difference playing with Barkley is, but its a very noticeable turnaround.

I played one game using USC. The passing game is playing really good to me. The pass trajectories are really nice. The dropbacks are nice. It seemed a little to easy but, it might be the difficulty setting. As long as it plays realistic I can deal with the need to up the difficulty. I haven't played enough yet to see everything but, so far I am really looking forward to this game. I love the scores at the bottom and the studio updates. It really made you feel like a lot of stuff was going on all across the country.

Re: NCAA Football 13 Demo Is Out, Post Your Impressions Here

Right now, I am labbing each offense a few times to get a feel for what they do. Then I will move to the defenses and what not. So far, I am really, really liking Oregon's spread. There was a new Jet TO that looked really neat. The QB-RB mesh is much faster and allows for real downhill running with the QB. Try the QB wraps again. They worked exactly the way that they are drawn for the first time like...ever. Almost too well really.

With Kansas, I loved the Offset I stuff, very smooth. I also ran a triple option pass for the first time in several years and, to my surprise, protection was perfect and I had an easy completion for a first down. KSU also has a ton of QB power in their PB and it worked ok, especially with that horse of a qb back there.

LSU's multiple attack is the only one to offer a triple option out of the I (that I know of) and I have to say that the QB-FB mesh was much smoother and allowed for a few very nice gains for my FB. The Pistol running game feels a lot better. I scored from 70 running strong power...which is basically buck sweep...which is sexy. The read option is still a bit funny, but I was able to run with LSU's QB fairly well and he did not seem to be the fastest player on the field.

Overall, passing feels much better and is a lot harder (for me anyway). I am terrible at reading defenses and I am having trouble anticipating the routes. I have seen a few really nice jump ball battles from the WR/DBs and some nice picks. I really felt a difference when I was playing with Mettenburger( who has an elite arm supposedly) and Oregon's QB (who seems to be more of a runner). Throwing the deep ball never felt cheap and I had traded a few ints and long gains.

Presentation looks great but I worry about the studio updates slowing down gameplay. I also noticed some pauses in between plays while running the hurry up which makes sense but, felt odd.

I did not like the way that the running backs get stuck in long tackle avoidance animations. I lost more yards sometimes and got that was frustrating. I did not seem to give up many sacks.

Overall, I am super hyped for NCAA 13 now...can't wait.
