Well since they have Skip Bayless I'd like them to put in Stephen A Smith so they have twitter fights and provide some comedy in the game. Now on a real one. I would say have the twitter feed custom to the player/coach. Lets say if your a coach your have the likes of John Madden and Tony Dungy in your feed. If your a QB you get the likes of Marino, Montana, Elway and so on......

Re: Madden NFL Creative Director Asks About Future Virtual Twitter Feed Personalities

My fear with all of this is them worrying more about what surrounds the game instead of the actual game itself. I don't mean that to sound like I'm trolling...hear me out. The celebrities we should be worried with are the players, as with T.O. and such we could have plenty of immersion surrounding the game...just hearing in general player and coaches' sides of things that really affect the game on the field. What I'm getting the sense of instead is that they want to bring in opinionated, sportscaster celebrities that, yeah, they do talk up the sport and affect it slightly (just a little bit), but they get more annoying, as they mostly think they are more part of the league than who really matters.

I guess I'm trying to say this: All of the twitter and dynamic immersion of the talking heads should be incorporated into the online dynasties website. That seems to be the more perfect place for all of that, and it'd be relied upon bandwidth instead of disc space. I think they should really consider this possibility because the size of the coding, now, they are going to need all the disc space they can get come as soon as next year (adding back features) and especially for next gen.

So...not hating on it so much, as I'm thinking they incorporated it into the wrong place when so many are wanting features back into the game...because...will the space be there for it, you know?

I'm not sure about this one...even if they put ten more celebrities and reams of text for them, we're talking ten image files and a book's worth of text, and that's being generous. Seeing as a book weighs in at less than a megabyte, I think this is exactly the sort of thing they should be expanding on to add to immersion. Hell, get one person in for the entire year to write fake articles, tweets and blurb and it'll still be no more than a mb or two...and that much non-repeating material would be celebrated on here very quickly.

Yeah, that's cool. Admittedly I have to ask my contacts/friends who do developing to figure out the logistics overall. I just thought that it seems they could go bigger and do more from an online programming through the dynasties website that did what they want and 100-fold because it'd be wide open as compared to what's compressed to just the disc.

This is another clear example to me that my priorities for a football game and theirs are in no way aligned with each other. I'm just now praying that NCAA doesn't get invaded with this type of logic because then I'll have no place left to go.

Agreed.

I mean, the Twitter feed is well done. It truly adds to the immersion.

But it won't be long before you notice the same tweet(s) with a different player's name mentioned. I played for just three days and I saw a bit of that. There's still a very good amount of variety in the tweets and content, but you certainly will see some identical tweets with the name interchanged.

Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay would be great if they are not in already. Beat reporters would be cool.

Re: Madden NFL Creative Director Asks About Future Virtual Twitter Feed Personalities

An area like this I don't think the repetitive nature is an issue because NFL football is pretty repetitive anyway but it's the natural flow, how conhesive it all feels that will matter most, imo. So considering that, I think going forward it's a good idea to use the twitter feeds to enhance further illuminate the yearly routine drama of the NFL. We know some teams will make the playoffs, coaches will be fired, contracts will be signed, big games will be achieved, heartbreak losses, team altering injuries, etc, so that might be a good place to focus.

Aside from the beat reporters, which I think would be a great addition, I think they need to focus more on expanding the storyline depth of the current twitter characters, than adding new ones. I would much rather see the same key people in the virtual twitter, tweeting accurately and cohesively about relevant drama in my league than increased static characters making random comments.

Would also like to see current players in CC tweet relevant things like coming back from injury, signing new contracts/new team, tough loss/big victory, huge stat game, new coach, preseason position battles, etc. Something like this, while repetitive, could add depth and seem unique just by interchanging current player faces and names.
