And I thought this looked bad on my phone - YIKES!! The graphics are atrocious along with those overall animations.
I'm now a firm believer that this game WILL be a "cheap" DLC, period. The exit option (which I really wasn't keen on til reading a comment or 4 earlier today) AND the on-screen game download of Castle Storm DLC, which isn't even out I've come to find in my research (again, another person on here spoke on it, already) are tip-offs.

Damn, I was really exited right up until tip-off. Then I couldn't stop laughing. Now I really understand why we've been left out of the loop all this time. I truly feel sorry for Live fans.

Re: NBA Live 13 Gameplay Video - Miami Heat vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

First let me start off by saying, I am in no way shape or form, condoning the purchase of this game. In no way way shape or form am I saying this is going to be a good basketball game. In fact, I was one of the first aside from 23 and King, who were honestly assessing EAs situation for what it was. However, judging it off of being indeed a pre-alpha version, I was pleasantly surprised. Here's why:

First of all, the Live 10 engine gone. It's not coming back, and that has to be accepted. Which I will address later in this synopsis of my thoughts on the game play video.

Also, anyone who is trying to compare this game to 2k, is setting it up for failure, and anyone who expected it to be that good in the first place has their expectations all out of order.

Viewing this, assuming it's a pre-alpha build, I was pleasantly surprised. Why? Because it showed EA actually has a pulse. I honestly didn't expect this game to ever see the light of day period, and two, gameplay wise, I can see the improvements from Elite.

Also, whether right or wrong on EA's part, people have to stop assuming that this is a game that was two years in the works. It has been said many times it wasn't. This is on a regular dev cycle, salvaging what they could from a game that was completely unplayable. Do I agree with that? No. But that was the choice and I'm judging based off of that. If this game really was two years in the making, this would be unacceptable.

Obviously, from this video, there is still a lot of things to be desired. Which I expected. Player movement is still sketchy, and sliding occurs. (Again assuming this is pre-alpha) Rebounding logic was questionable based on what we saw here, and the graphics, are lacking to say the least, which in any game, I'm willing to look over if the gameplay makes up for it. Not saying it does in this case, but it's lower on my priority list. Oh and that ugly *** running animation is still in O.o

However there were areas where I saw some improvement. First of all, player speed for the most part was toned down, and in most instances, you could sense the player actually had a little weight to them when players had the ball in their hand, unlike Elite where you could just spin move as fast as you wanted over and over with no repercussions. Obviously there is still A LOT of room for improvement here, but it's a step in the right direction.

Ball physics are better. Shot's have more of a realistic arc and don't look like 90mph fastballs like they did in Elite. Also the speed of the jump shots, aside from that first LeBron one, which looked kind of quick, were much improved.

The sound was really good. Felt like an authentic NBA arena, although I don't think OKC has a real organ? and the crowd movement and reactions as far as visually lacked polish. Presentation and commentary was good. To me, every commentary team in any sports game, get's redundant. Just part of the limits of what can be included. Happens in 2k, happens in The Show, happens in Madden. Still, commentary had a nice flow and seemed to coincide nicely with the action on the floor.

Don't get me wrong, I can definitely see peoples gripes, but maybe my expectations were much lower, which with EA, you have to do.

I go back to Live 10. There were a lot of things wrong with that game. A lot of quirky movements and animations, but most were overlooked due to the intuitive controls and free flowing passing.

Am I going to buy this game? Not a chance in hell, but am I completely trashing their hopes of survival based off of a pre-alpha game play video, coming off a version that was literally unplayable? No.

I think it's because of the dark cloud that EA has had hanging around them, that makes people view their videos through a pessimistic lens. Totally understandable. Idk, maybe I choose to remain optimistic, because good competition breeds better games, and not just looking to trash EA, because it's EA. Not saying they don't deserve it, because honestly after this generation of basketball, hell sports in general, they do, and have called them out for that numerous times, but I'm going to reserve my complete judgement on this game, until I see the demo, and after I let this development team get their feet underneath them, which most likely isn't going to happen this year. Its not their fault they had to inherit such garbage, and it probably wasn't their decision to salvage what was left of Elite either.

This team has a loooong way to go.

CAN SOMEONE ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS? I APOLOGIZE FOR ALL CAPS BUT THIS IS AN IMPORTANT ISSUE.

Why did 22cedric post this?

For the past few months, this guy has been defending EA to no end -- any time that anyone would say that this game isn't coming out or it's going to suck, he kept defending EA.

What's his agenda?

Why would he then post this video when he always defends EA?

Something doesn't make sense to me.

Yeah, it's a shame that this is a current gen game...

Well, after watching it a few times, I can say a few good things bout it. The presentation is pretty darn good. Special effect sounds are authentic (listen to the ball hitting the rim when someone bricks, it really give the ball weight). Also, spacing looks pretty good in this game. Other than that, it needs a lot of work.
