"bitter Packers fan?" i seem to remember a Super Bowl win for Green Bay in the 90s. So not much to be bitter about. If I were a Bucs fan, I guess I wouldn't mind it either, considering your team didn't have much to offer you. I don't like him because he is overhyped. In 6 career playoff games he had 386 yards on 91 carries. almost half of those yards came in a game against the Packers where he went 27 for 169. eliminate that one game, he averaged under 2.4 yards per carry. The only thing about him that is less impressive, is his career playoff touchdowns: a grand total of 1. That was an unimportant 47 yard run in a 31-6 game against DAL, in the 4th quarter. That game he had 69 yards. He really showed up in the playoffs. imagined if he played when it was actual football, when every other team wasn't on turf. If he played when Jim Brown played, he wouldn't have had 5000 yds rushing.

So basically you never watched Barry Sanders play. You only bring up stats and only playoff stats which are few anyways because the Lions were just awful. If you actually WATCHED him play I think you would have a different opinion. I am assuming you are too young to have watched him play since all you have to bring up are stats from playoffs and ignoring anything else. I would take the one of the greatest defenses ever which the Bucs had over any of your Packers team since we are gonna go there. By bitter I meant watching him shred your defense which I guess you didn't even watch. Anyways anyone who watched Barry Sanders plays knows how good he was. Anyone he says differently are too young to remember or never even witnessed.

I witnessed Barry Sanders thru the beauty of the Internet, VHS tapes, and NFL Network. Plus, I do believe if he played another 12-20 games in the NFL, he would've had the record. I may be young but I believe doing bad/good in the playoffs don't tell anything also, its about the entire body of work. And Barry Sanders body of work gave him HoF status and one of the greatest RBs in the game. Besides the only player the lions can go to in the 90s was Barry and only Barry. So obviously the defenses would focus on Barry.

Exactly the point I am making. There is only so much one man can do. All of those Lions teams that Barry Sanders played on were awful. They never had a quarterback that I can remember, and the offensive line was a complete joke. For Sanders to do what he did with those Lions teams was nothing short of spectacular. I can't for the life of me believe anyone can argue against Barry Sanders being worthy of the Madden cover. If you watched him play you would know how good he was. If you didn't watch him play you could do what you said you did and go back watch highlights, tapes or whatever you see fit and see just how great he was. I hate how people have their biased opinions cloud their vision and judgment. Not referring to you of course. The point is if you haven't seen him play or seen his highlights and are only referencing stats then you have it all wrong.

Not only back to back covers for the Lions, but back to back for Berry since he was on NCAA 13 last year too. Looks like he's graduated to Madden (no, they didn't import him via draft class... *lame joke)

If I was the bitter Packers fan that you feel the need to call me, why do I feel that Gale Sayers is the 2nd best RB of all-time? Why do I feel that Butkus is one of the top 5 players of all-time, and the greatest Defensive player ever? Your just another one of these 30 some year olds that saw only what has happened in your lifetime, you have no respect for the history of the game. If you ever watched Brown run, you'd known hes a better back than Sanders. If you watched Sayers, you would know that they are similar in style, but the competition Sayers played against were better. Also Sayers made his cuts and fields that were all chewed up, Sanders career was mostly played on turf, their is a big difference.
