Re: Madden NFL 25 Connected Franchise Q&A with Josh Looman

The fonts and menu screens are reminding on Head Coach '09 which is a very good thing. I can't wait to hear more about this game.

Anyone know if Shefter and Wingo do audio draft storylines during the season? Also is are there any screen shots of draft day?

I hope they open up certain physical attributes for all prospects that participate in the combine. Even if it's just a letter grade. It's kinda dumb that they have a combine but we learn nothing about the prospects unless we scout them.

Guess we have to "wait and see" but this one jumped out at me as a POSSIBLE over-implementation" waitin' to happen...

I hope they find a way to tie HB "regression" to cumulative carries...I've seen MANY articles where they find that THAT is the most telling stat where "longevity" at the position is concerned...

THEN they have to account for the RARE Curtis Martin / Emmett Smith that improbably lasts waaaaaay beyond expectation...

How do you make a realistic determination of WHO those guys are / could be?

Interesting!
I read the answer to this in one of the interviews/articles...cannot remember where

Pretty much if a veteran guy is about to produce enough to offset the regression then that player will continue to play well and not regress. If they are a backup or on the bench then expect the regression to happen much faster.

Thanks MrBill for allowing us to put some input in. My only question is simple really...Will the MVP of the Super Bowl have a bigger impact than M13? In M13 if someone was named MVP of the Super Bowl...it would hardly be announced and would not be added to their player information like a season MVP stat would. I think it is something small, but I took notice of.

Also, please implore to Mike Young that just a short little cut scene of 1st round picks being given jerseys at the draft (which can be toggled on and off) would go a LONG way to making the draft replicate the drama that it is in real life.

another question, When you import the draft classes will their still be sleepers or gems so to speak, in that imported class
How do you expect to get draft storylines for your imported NCAA players?? The storylines are specifically created for the games hand made created draft classes.

The game doesn't just randomly "invent" story lines, they're already pre made for the pre made draft classes.

So to answer your question, no, you won't get any storylines when you import draft classes.

I'm just hoping they make some kind of presentation improvement such as a show or something

Glad to help try and get the answers to the questions. I'll try to work it into our chat.

Re: Madden NFL 25 Connected Franchise Q&A with Josh Looman

It's probably a little late for this, but I just saw this blog post for NCAA:

http://www.easports.com/ncaa-footbal...4-coach-skills

Basically, there are coaching talent trees with traits for game management and recruiting. Coordinators are in the game and also have talent trees to spend XP on. This is a million billion trillion times better (at least!) than the current system for coaches in Madden.

These traits should have a much more varied and interesting effect on gameplay and team management, and they add depth to decisions like when to call a timeout or whether to attempt a kick. They also force the user to make interesting choices about which traits are more important and what strategy will produce more wins: you can try to coach players up or you can recruit better talent.

If you read the blog in detail, there is SO much in there that should make coaches matter and actually feel like coaches instead of the nothing that they are in Madden. ***Anyone who is in touch with Madden devs, please ask if/when a system like this is coming to Madden.*** I don't play NCAA and I have no idea if this system is something that was tried before this year. I don't know if it has sucked or will suck. But I strongly doubt it would be any less than a significant upgrade over what we have in Madden. I really wish we got something like this instead of the tycoon mini-game stuff. Forgive me if this is old news - I happened to check on NCAA and my head exploded when I saw what's happening over there.

NCAA 14 may be the best game this year....
