Ok just played first game, I was Bos. Ok the game is good so far. Skating felt great. First play that occured Kane tried the Cpu rap around and I killed him with Chara no goal great hit. AI does stay in place I even noticed Hjalmarson cycling in low on offense for the hawks.

So I figured big whoop new fights... Boy was I wrong they are fun and some spontaneuos others not. Had two fights in first game. Wow Wow Wow Fun Fun Fun. Looked and played right.

Both fights were kinda random pairings however. First Loui Erickson fought Seabrook I lost but it is fun. Erickson had clearly visible bruises on his forehead after the fight.

Second up I hit Toews with bergeron kinda late and kinda a double team. We dropped. I lost again but not by mutch for the second time.

In the end I was standing and chanting fight. So way to go EA you may have brought some life back to the game.

Watching Kevin's demo gameplay video in the media thread, I saw two instances of impossible across-the-body one-timers from the point (one @ 3:10 on the goal). While the shots are somewhat weaker than a properly executed one-timer, they're still far too powerful.

There's no way to get that kind of speed on a shot from that shooting position. In tight, you can re-direct a puck using the speed of the pass -- I think that's what the animation is intended for -- but from the outside it should trigger a stop & shoot animation that requires the D-man to turn his body.

Which we saw in NHL07. Still not sure why those animations were taken out.

.
Yeah, I reacted on that same shot. Way to hard for being a shot delivered like that.

I want those animations back so badly. Just make my guy stop and adjust to corral the pass or even take it in the skates and kick it up to his stick so I can chip it down low or pass it back. Don't let me take some wacky looking one-time shot.

i played 2 3rd periods position locked to the Blackhawks RW's.

played on superstar hardcore simulation..

the CPU teammates seemed to play better than in prior versions. in better position and acted as the CPU team did.

also seems as if they toned down letting you call for the puck. or you have to be in better position to do so. a few shifts i was away from the play and my guy wouldn't even respond, no stick tapping.

CPU's puck movement on the PP was really good. Boston set up Iginla for 3 one timers in a row. 2 missed the net the other was deflected out of play.
