One game was all it took. Just play in the net so had a great view of the AI working.

Still no celebrations with 5 players on the ice after a goal? Still D-man getting back to my face until coming up a bit to screen me on a shot? Still same cutscene, lack of presentation and lame while the graphics are simply horrible (putting a net cam that as a resolution of a Genesis when you watch a replay from it is simply spectacular!)...

NHL 13 was back on the shelf coming december last year. This year, won't even make it in the house. Not worth 70$, not even 25$. That game is simply not getting it done for me.

I've played a few games and I've noticed that Rask at least seems to constantly fall on his butt to make even a simple save, I'm worried that could be a trend in NHL 14 where the goalies go down wayyyyy to much, anybody else notice this?

Now playing NHL14, after basically not playing any EA hockey for 2 years, feels a lot more fresh.

A 24-month period would also give the developers a lot more time (time off as well), so that they stay fresh and don't feel as much stress and pressure in such a short turnaround period.

This will never happen because the current system still generates a tonne of money.
But I can dream, can't I?
We can both dream, but I don't think it's so far-fetched. I just don't think they've figured out how to make the most money out of the idea yet. I think it becomes more possible once games become entirely digital.

I mean they already save on the cost of producing a disc and packaging. Not that they'll pass that on to the consumer, but there are ways to make a 24-month cycle work.

If they could adapt a 2 year cycle, id even pay for a roster update at the beginning of the 2nd year. Something marginal of course, I would fear EA would be inclined to bend us over as usual.

We all know they're capable of patching, and essentially could patch the game around the one year mark with minor changes/upgrades, while mostly developing a new game for the end of that 2nd year mark.

Would be a wonderful idea that most of us (I'd like to think) would welcome it. Even if it meant we had to spend $20-30 between years, and hope they justify the extra cash. Sure beats $60.

I think if it ever became a reality, we'd see some sort of pay to upgrade scheme as apposed to 1 game every 2 years. EA needs to get that money...

They all need the money. I imagine the respective leagues EA, Sony and 2K pay for licensing need that money just as bad. At least want it

I only played one game, but I must admit it feels just like last year. The AI seems just like last year (which is not good). It is great to see the d-man skating fixed, but the CPU is still so passive. As an offline player, nothing is pulling me into this game at all.

The Aggression slider is set a bit low so maybe that will help things, but you're right the Ai doesn't seem too much different. Hopefully this and Presentation are to priority for next gen debut. I would take a hit in overall depth for both of those to be top notch.

Re: NHL 14 Demo Available Now For 360, Later Today For PS3 - Post Your Impressions He

they gotta fix how easy it is to gain the offensive zone. it just kills the game. At any point you want, you can either skate the puck up or just make a long board pass and you have easy entry or a 3 on 2. its horrible.

Also, there is too much flow in this game. It needs whistles, stoppages. pucks in the crowd, offsides.
pucks need to be fought for.. this game the puck just stays on sticks way too long.

hopefully they are able to tune a ton more loose pucks. and are able have neutral zone battles. this game right now is just an arcade game for offline users.

i will say i like how they finally fixed the deflections, and they dont look scripted anymore.
