I really hope they get this right especially for next-gen. The 2Kinsider has been atrocious the last few years in regards to player and roster updates, coaches, accessories, etc. Now someone correct me if I'm wrong, but when 2k13 came out weren't we told that even player models as far as hair, tats, gear, etc would be updated?? I'm the type of gamer who like everything to reflect the real NBA; that means shoes, tats, hairstyles, gear, rosters all need to be accurate. Remember how in 2K5 Ben Wallace was able to have cornrows in some games and then his blow out afro in others? Why hasn't something like that been replicated since? Iman Shumpert and Norris Cole were painful to look at in 2K13..and I think they could have easily been updated to incorporate their flattops. If not 2K14 when do you think we will start to see player model updates??

I really hope that this new software works. Personally, I prefer weekly updates, since NBA teams play so many games already in a given week. Given the dynamic nature of basketball performance, I believe that the game would dramatically change too much with daily updates. I would be cool playing with the players' weekly average.

Agree, rating adjustments shouldn't be too drastic. I mean if Monta Ellis is hitting a few threes in a game, he shouln't have his 3pt boosted to 90 all of a sudden. Maybe plus/minus a few points for players on prolonged streaks (something like +-5 at max). More important is the consistency attribute in combination with microwave/anti freeze/heat retention in my opinion. So hot streaks shouldn't be forced or anything by jacking up ratings. But they could be more likely to reoccur in the game by adjusting consistency, so players get hot more quickly. So even if someone is lighting it up in real life, there should still be the possibility of him having off nights in 2k14, but he could get hot quicker.

I just want the ratings to match on court performance only. What a player did in 2011 should have no bearing on their weekly rating. If a star player is shooting 20 from 3pt range it should be reflected in the game along with any improvements in shot % someone like Kobe who is known to be inconsistent from long range is example of this

So every player starts with the same ratings until after the first game/week of the season? So you have to wait until Lebron proves he can make a spectacular dunk before he has a high dunk rating? Until Kobe proves he can make clutch shots he's not clutch in the game? I would rather use common sense and acknowledge the proven abilities of established players.

Dunking is different than shooting though, it is completely different. Tendencies are another thing as well. I actually think tendencies are just as important or more so than the ratings. Clutch the way used in this game is just wrong. It is overdone to force clutchness when players are not really playing better in the clutch. Look up some of the clutch stats and take a look at how 2K implements it.

I will use Kobe as an example 1/21- 3/3 of last season he shot 21% from three point range should his 3pt rating dipped during this span of 20 games? During the first 20 games of the season he was shooting 39% from three. If you are playing with Kobe during those streches you should have the good Kobe and the bad Kobe. It makes you change everything up. That is a cold and hot streak. All they need to update these things say weekly to get trends of how players are playing

Not a fan of when someone edits in music with an interview. Especially in this one, it's too distracting from what the guy is saying.

I don't care about gear edits and shoe accuracy but I do KNOW my Timberwolves roster became out of date player-wise early in the season and those missing players were NEVER added in, that was unacceptable!
