A surprise distraction at the plate can change the flow of an entire baseball game and in some cases (see:
Squirrel), can catapult a team to a
destiny-filled World Series run.
But what about something as simple and old-school as "the wave?" According to the Texas Rangers,
the wave is a distraction that needs to stop and they're not afraid to tell fans about it -- in a light-hearted way, of course.
When fans dish out money for a baseball game they're buying more than nine innings of on-field action. Baseball is an event -- an experience filled with $5 hot dogs, stadium seats built for the comfort of an eight-year old's body, and in some cases "the wave."
Sound Off: Should baseball fans sacrifice fun at the ballpark to appease the players?
