I just wish Madden had the support and used the community feedback like they do with Fifa and UFC. Those games are good. Madden and NHL have the means to be good, but they only care about the casual crowd. While throwing a little bit of "sim" in there.

Something still isn't right about the models from the elbow down. Not that forearms are flexible body parts, but Madden somehow manages to make them look too stiff and unnatural and it's been like this since the series went 3D.

I'm going to take a stab and guess the one handed/circus catches will probably be overdone. Subtly has always been a weak point for Madden.

Re: Breaking Down the First Madden NFL 16 Trailer (Video Breakdown)

Im not going to lie, I buy Madden every year and I am going to buy it this year because I love football and its a licensed game. that said, I hope it brings something new to the table visually, as it sucks to see this trailer and not be able to distinguish anything from Madden 15. that said, I will temper my expectations like I do every year, and hope its fun to play

I want to see what they do with the draft. That may be my determining factor. Even though its licensed, we were able to customize tge draft classes before. So with all this license bs, look at how much we made the previous maddens relevant with the ncaa draft classes. They need to add customized draftday rosters.

I'm hoping we get animations for players to reach for the 1st down marker. If defensive players use the aggressive tackle, they have a better chance at stopping you from getting the 1st, but a higher risk of a broken tackle and a larger gain. If they go with the 'safe' tackle option, they most likely don't stop you from the 1st down, but they lower the risk of a broken tackle and a bigger gain.

Did anyone notice on the ODB/Hall play that, instead of Hall sticking to his canned animation, that he instead fell with ODB as they were going down - transitioning from the attempted catch animation to a falling/bracing animation all thanks to ODB essentially sitting on him? I haven't played for a few weeks, but I don't believe that's been implemented to play out dynamically like that. That play, along with the hand swipe, makes it look like they're changing the way players interact with each other.

Don't get me wrong, Hall absolutely should be at least attempting to turn into the play and deflect the pass, that was horrid...but there appear to be some very promising things in the video that nobody is talking about.

If what I'm seeing is true and the interactions between players are becoming more fluid, I see the potential for blockers to properly rip-reach on an outside zone...without it being scripted to play out as such. I see potential for proper leveraging with press to disrupt the route instead of stop the WR dead. Maybe not this year, but the potential is there.

I get it - people are sick of being bent over by previous Madden iterations. Does that mean it's necessary to overlook the positive things that have been implemented by this team over the past couple years, and the improvements that continue to be made? Call the bad what it is - but don't ignore the good too...that's like saying Megan Fox as being a total tw*twaffle with a stub-for-thumbs... without admitting that you'd totally poke her. I'd totally poke her, and I totally see potential for this franchise - even if it is taking longer than I'd like.

I agree with the analogy part, at least the early part. lol

I thought Chris did a nice job of breaking everything down on each catch, including calling out the last one.

Not too much positive attention has been brought out by the first three interactions.

With this game, it's always about potential or moving in the right direction but it never gets there. Nothing is ever implemented year one and have it be amazing. If the interactions look improved, but nothing great that's what we can expect in the game. Things rarely if ever get revisited, they move on to the next back of the box item.

I also think there is cause for concern based on the controls description. Players choosing between possession catch or aggressive catch. That's got gimmick all over it. Wrs high point the ball or try to use their bodies to block out defenders. There is no such thing as possession or aggressive catching.

What I've seen is standard EA marketing. Slightly improved area of fundamental football with an arcadey twist being sold with buzz words like aggressive and possession used out of context. It'll most likely play out just like it has for years with people who like EA football eating this up and the ones who don't still unhappy. Hard to get excited about that imo.
