We know about the adjustment that has to be made when putting up hill or down hill. The problem is the games programming doesn't seem to be the same as previous years.
Wow man, chill out.

The programming seems just fine. I'm having no issues. I haven't really seen or heard of anyone else posting issues about it even through the EA early access. Which is why I pointed out what I did.

I had issues with it at first while I adjusted to what type of adjustment constitutes an "inch" on the screen, but now, no issues at all. So, I doubt it's a programming issue, it's more than likely an aiming/swing tempo issue. Even if I still miss one every now and then, I don't blame the game. I'm the one controlling it.

Hence the reason I said in my post... "just a thought".

Yes, exactly. Enable zoom in the settings and then press y on xbox or triangle on ps4 and it will zoom to where your target is.

The swing meter takes a bit to get used to. The game auto adjusts for distance so you don't have a lot of control on your backswing. Wherever you place your target, that's where your max swing will head for. So if you have a 100 yd wedge and want to hit it 25 yds, put your target at 25 yds and do a full backswing and you will be close, depending on wind and elevation.

Haha I know right thanks man. I was playing out of my *** that day for some reason. That course is incredible huh? Every tee shot is a hold your breath moment. You play any other courses up there? I really enjoyed Conestoga as well if you played there its like the mini Wolf Creek. Really nice track.

Re: Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR Available Today - Post Your Impressions Here

I would have to say I'm dissapointed in the game.

It's not that it's awful, it just feels like I paid 60.00 for a demo of a game. And I'm not talking about just the small amount of courses either. I'm talking about all the features and things that most of us loved about last Gen's last effort. Now had this game came out at the launch of these systems or a few months after I would be more forgiving but EA had TWO EFFING YEARS to do something with this game. TWO YEARS.

-No country clubs.
-The putting game is weak compared to their last effort.
-There's no real feeling of immersion in your career mode. Something last gen did decently
-Customizing the face of your golfer is weak. Feels like a bare bones effort.
-The visuals are OK. It's a golf game. I'm not expecting Last of Us Remastered.
-What happened to the ball trails?
-Etc...

Honestly, and I cannot believe I'm saying this but for the first time ever, I wish EA had just taken their last game, gave it a visual improvement, change the name, put Rory on the box (I dont like him, but whatever) and called it a day. This is the one time I wish EA had taken the even LAZIER route and just ported over last years with some updates. Instead they tried to make a brand new game almost and it seems like 1/3 of the way through they just said "eff it".

I'm sorry, the game at 60.00 to me is a demo. I wonder if the same people at EA on that particular team worked on this or if some of them had moved on from the last version of the game.

Dont get me wrong, it's fun to hop in and play with my buddies online while we talk about other stuff, but the game just feels weak overall. I don't see myself racing to get in 4 rounds every night in my career mode or even begging my friends to take a break from BF4 and ESO to play a round with me.

Nice job EA... #sarcasm

As far as the difficulty goes, here are my current settings:

Swing Mechanic - 3 Click
Swing Difficulty - Hard
Power/Spin - Off
Green Read - On
Putt Read - Off
Shot Shaping - Off
Lie Effect - Normal
Wind Gust - On
Zoom - Off
Aim Arc - On

The key to these settings in my opinion have been the 3 click swing. It is a world of difference from the stick in so many ways. For one you can get a little extra power on your shots if you prefer, and at the same time if you miss the power click short your ball will most definitely be short of its orginal target. Same thing goes for the accuracy click. If you miss way left or right your ball is going to be in the rough for sure, but if you miss only slightly left or right then sometimes you can keep your ball in the fairway if you're lucky.

With all that being said, putting is really where I bilieve 3 click shines. Everyone is talking about how putting has no feel because you just pull the stick back the same length every time no matter the distance of the putt. This is very true, and with 3 click you actually have to worry about to power of your swing and even the accuracy of it.

So far using these settings I finished dead last, while getting used to them, in the Web.com championship, missing the cut at +25. But as I write this I'm currently in my first PGA event (63 OVR) and sitting at the cut line of +1 on the 11th hole of day 2. I can't tell you how rewarding a birdie and even par save feels right now. I can't remember the last time I had that feeling in an EA golf game.

Nice job EA

Couple things I would like to see. Tweak putting for more feel in tour mode, Better create player of course and a true flop shot adjusting to a wider, open stance and face and ball comes off higher ... And I really want a legends mode. Where we can play some classic players with similar skills to their real careers

The answer is:

Swing Mechanic - 3 Click

For now there is no other way to do a challenge

Swore I would never go back to 3-Click. Seems so Last-Genish but I need a challenge. Might take some of the beating off my left thumb stick.
