If you know anything about Hogan he talks a lot of nonsense ask
him something about a topic and he will give you 5 different answers.

Since he was going through a dark time in his life at the time he
was probably going through a bitter phase. Looking at his history
and his numerous black friends I have a hard time believing he
truly is racist.

As for the game its gonna suck that the biggest roster ever won't feature
the guy who started it all.
Having black "friends" doesnt mean you cant be racist. There are plenty of racists who can associate with minorities from time to time.

We need to deal with these sort of situations in a more constructive manner than just making him a pariah of the industry. Heavily fining him, having him do public speeches involving race relations (much like Mike Vick did with PETA to rehabilitate his image) and taking serious counseling would be a lot more helpful.

Why would I want to hear Hogan speak on race relations? Lets not make this as if Hogan is misunderstood. He said something extremely racist in the privacy of his own home and thats his right. But those thoughts are typically the true feelings of the person.

This wasnt a mistake. Hogan actually feels this way about black people. He just thought no one would ever find out because he would never speal that way in public.

You should probably read up on that some more.

Interesting article that paints Ty Cobb in a light different than what has been shed over the years.

Never said that Hogan made a mistake or these aren't his own personal feelings. He obviously harbors a lot of racist/bigoted feelings towards African Americans and that is sad and pathetic.

What I am saying is that for once we should try and examine what has led him to harboring such thoughts (through counseling and other means). While using this situation as a why to try and educate young fans about the ills of bigotry and racism. You can't defeat racism - which will never likely go away - or lessen its impact by ignoring it which is what people always want to do.

Firing him and pushing the issue under the rug, especially in an industry like wrestling where stereotypes and negative portrayals of minorities are rampant, leads to nothing of significance. He goes away in the corner, like he has in the past, and returns in a few years when the media storm has died down. Yet, I also understand that WWE is a corporate entity and needs to look out for their best interest (meaning money) so keeping him around would hurt that greatly.

Happy you got a chuckle out of that, Pappy.

I meant in the sense of doing a campaign similar to the B*A*Star campaign from a few years ago. Anyway, Hogan is toast (for the foreseeable future) and many people (myself) have lost a childhood hero. Sad to see how big of a piece of **** he really is..............
