As I've said, I've not spent much time with PES over the last bunch of years, so I'm reserving a lot of my gameplay comments until I have a better feel for the controls and what you can actually do.

What I will comment on here however is the tactical menus, and the menus and options in general, they're terrible. Terrible and in complete need of an overhaul. The tactical system while relatively deep suffers badly because of how counterintuitive the menu system is. There's a lot to like here, fluid formations, differing lines and pressures but it's all buried in sub menus, shame really.

The game options suffers from the same thing, I feel like I'm playing a PS2 game and in 2015 this is just inexcusable.

Graphically, I have no complaints really. The art style is a bit different from FIFA, but the game still looks great while playing.

I love the new physicality, although I'm still coming to grips with how to combat it(any help?). I also like how active everyone is, another plus.

Pass speed for me is too fast and the CPU too accurate, so fast and accurate in fact that it's nearly impossible to sit back play space and intercept passes. This forces the game to at times devolve into a tackle fest which unfortunately exacerbates the issue with fouls/referees

Skill moves, I'm still trying to come to grips with the system which for me is too complicated for its own good.

Ball physics, and physics in general is better, but still behind FIFA 15.

Anyone who knows me knows that I wasn't "raised on the game" like some of you, I'm a relative rookie when it comes to positioning, assignments, things of that nature, that's my partner's area of expertise(Matt10L) so I'll defer to him in this area.

Finally, the fun factor. All in all, I really like the game so far, it's not perfect of course, but no game is or will be. In the end whether I buy or not depends on the improvements to Master League, if option files are, well an option(PS4), the leagues available in ML and to a lesser extent the commentary.
Basically you came here to boast much how better Fifa is by doing it in slick fashion or so it seems. Kidding bro. LOL

@crunkboy2 We're still fine tuning the referees and other details for the release. Thanks for the feedback!
The referees are broken in this demo. I expect lot of changes in the full game. But atleast this is the closest to real life football game we can have in a long time. Imo PES 16 replicated the sport more than any football game i've ever played. Yeah there are lack of fouls but i'm sure they are still sorting it out.

Guys sends your feedback to PES official twitter Adam doesn't listen to feedback.

I like it and actually have some faith in the foul department. Itll be tweaked and hopefully since the ps4 has some sharing capabilities maybe it can be helped via edits.

Game needs to be slowed down. No idea how anyone could play this on default speed. -2 or -1 are a must.

Fouls will hopefully get tweaked before release. I suggest we all tweet @officialpes with feedback in the hope of it getting sorted. Don't bother with Adam Bhatti he throws a wobbly if you dare suggest a change. Not a very good community manager he just accuses you of being rude. The user controlled replay cameras are awful but hardly a game breaker. The only other thing I can think of is if you foul someone and advantage is played they never go back to book player. They could learn from fifa in this department. Imo this is the best pes for many years and a definite buy. I won't choose between pes and fifa they are both good and different in their own ways so will get both. It's a bit like forza and project cars. Forza has all the licences but project cars has a bit more of the intricate details.

Okay, from what I see, it looks great. I love the reactions by the defenders and the overall attitude to build up a defensive midfield. The slower speed looks sublime.

Did you change just the user's fluid formations? And this is how the AI played? If so, I could definitely get on board with this. Fluid formations had good intentions last year, but it didn't produce the desired result. This looks more like it. Less playing around with the ball in the back and proper pressure where needed.

Thank you for the video, I hadn't gotten a chance to try Fluid formations this year yet. That video looked great. I hope you can produce more so I can watch them and analyze.

For those that don't know, and not to plug myself here, I analyze PES videos because I'm truly a PESfan. It's what I started doing to improve gameplay since I was 15 (I'm 30 now) and it will always be my game. Lately, especially since Fox Engine, the series let me down immensely. It's hard to trust KONAMI sometimes, or even EA, with the impressions they leave of basic football knowledge. I'll always accept there is a workaround, it just depends how easy and globally acceptable that workaround can be applied. I really hope someone comes out with a PC global editor this year unlike PES 15.
This is why you are the best Matt. You just love football and football gaming.

I will record another video showing what I did with the fluid formations to achieve this. I did go in and change not only my human teams formation but switched sides and changed their formation and then switched back to my human side for the game, haha. It was a lot of fun to play though. It is interesting because it has some of that FIFA feel from sliders that you guys had last year but those PES animations and just feel (whether that is good for some or bad for others, for me personally - good).

I am glad you take the time to watch and listen to others because a few comments right after my video were "i can't sit back and intercept passes" but if they watched my video they would see that you can!! haha. Just a little frustrated when people only sit back and talk but never listen. Look forward to more of your thoughts on PES and FIFA when it comes out! I will definitely come out with some more videos too for you and hopefully more people on these forums to watch.

The collision system doesn't kick in if they don't actually collide. Besides, it's Havok that is responsible for the collisions/physics/etc...

Posting/Interacting on OS does not mean that they don't have any idea about football. OS is a niche footy forum. Luckily we have guys like Matt & Orion making sliders that attract a lot more people.

He's been much better the past 2 years but I can't blame him at times. People are always coming at him via Twitter/forum/Youtube comments like 12 year olds with name-calling and just in-general internet tough guy talk.

Also, I've been booked plenty of times in 2015 & in the 2016 demo after the fact.

Overall it is a positive experience but the animations really need work. They are clunky and unnatural. Player movement is particularly robotic. PES menus continue to be terrible and there are no frills like players on the sideline or proper stadium atmosphere. (there is no difference between a game in Italy and one in Brazil) There is only night and day nothing in between.

It it weren't for the generally negative feelings against the EA FIFA team PES would get a lot less praise IMO. But there is a lot of fun in this game and I can't wait to try editing and play with proper South American teams that EA have been neglecting.

Re: PES 2016 Demo Available Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4

Just played an entire 7 minute match doing as many ill-intentioned slide tackles as possible, got called only four fouls with a disappointing yellow card even though I went through behind and got Vagner Love injured. They definitely need to fix fouls as soon as possible; imagine playing online with people trying to exploit this, it'd be a nightmare.
