Re: NBA 2K16 Gameplay Blog With Da_Czar

Question for Da_Czar and as I don't use Twitter figured I'd put it here in case anyone else can enlighten me.

We all know by now that Superstar/Sim is used for Play Now Online.

We know that default slider settings have everything at 50 obviously while simulation has some of the shooting sliders reduced to the 40's, contact in the 80's, etc.

My question is based on something Czar said in a SimNation podcast a few weeks ago. The panel was discussing users overreacting on sliders and changing the setting from 50 to 100 in some cases and not realizing that they are "breaking" some other aspect of the game. Czar basically said the 50 setting was where they, as the Dev team, felt provided the most realistic result per slider.

So was 2K16 in fact tuned to Superstar/Default or Superstar/Sim? As I build my own sliders each year I'd like to know which setting was designed to provide the most realistic experience and go from there as my base.

Could you shed any light on that Czar or was that simply an out of context comment or even just referring to MyLeague settings, and that Superstar/Sim is indeed the intended experience?

Somewhere in Scott's thread he (Scott) says SS/Sim was intended. Da_Czar also made a couple of comments in that area of the thread as well.

Ah ok, must have missed it. Perhaps Czar was indeed just referring to MyLeague sliders.

I know the feeling. There was a large thread here about "comback ai" and whether or not it's even real. Be that as it may, I'm willing to accept the fact that it could be user error on my part.

Angry pick and roll defense and post defense broken in nba2k16?

hi all,

i have seen long posts from da_czar and scott on other websites talking about ice pick and roll, go over/under, dig post defense and it all sounded good.

so i went in an offline game to try these exiting defenses, i chose two different teams wizards vs golden state, i set the controller sides for both teams using 2 gamepads. i modified the pick and roll defense and post defense on all players for both teams and tested them in game using my gamepad while keeping the other gamepad active locked to a player on the other team.

to my surprise i discovered that what defenses i set are not reflected whatsoever during the game, for example i set ICE and players do double team instead, i set no hedge and i get hedges, i set go dig post defense, tried also front, back/3/4 top, 3/4 bottom and nothing seems to be reflected in the game. i tried different players and up to superstar difficulty.

now my question is, seriously WTF? are they buttoms for decoration or for strategy implementation?

anyone can enlighten me cause im kinda pissed about this.

What settings did you have for your POE on defense?
