The Biggest Madden Patch Ever Arrives Today, New Mode and Various Bug Fixes

So is this worth picking up now? I'm still craving a sports game fix (not getting that with NHL this year) but I know this had some issues at launch. From what I gathered, problems with QB accuracy (draft class), LT progression, WR speed (draft class), drive goal XP glitch, and too easy to gain confidence. I don't know which of these applied to current players vs. draft classes (did the best off the top of my head), but I think these were the major flaws and they seem to be fixed now correct?

Great to see they tuned confidence and rookie speed. Lot of fixes in this patch. Give them credit for working hard on this year's game.

I'm not that deep into my franchise, so I think I'm going to reboot. No biggie since I'm sure I'll be playing this Madden for awhile.

That's a pretty comprehensive title update.

I find the concept of XP sliders in CFM intriguing. I wasn't personally having issues with the rate of earned XP before, to be honest, but that's definitely something that will be fun to play around with, and obviously will be very useful for those who didn't think the game was rewarding enough XP in its default state. I'll be interested to see what the slider people think is the "best" configuration for these.

I'm concerned about them tuning the deep zones. They weren't great and did need adjusting, but I'd hate to see the deep ball become too difficult to complete because you can never get behind the DBs, or the Safeties make up an enormous amount of ground.

Just ignore the people who come in here and rant about the issues not involved in the patch. Happens every single time something is released. They have their "hang up" on a certain issue and won't address anything positive about the patch. Let them do their thing and don't get into a meaningless conversation.

Anyways, the patch: This list is more impressive than I expected. Excited to see how the deep zones cover now and hopefully they keep people underneath a bit more. CPU AI pass rushing improved? Much much needed.

Regarding the slider, it's great news that EA is deciding to add customization to CFM. It's acknowledging that a one size fits all approach won't satisfy everyone, and could be a sign of things to come for '17.

My first thought was that I cant wait for A&S to come up with a suggested slider for progression, but I think it's actually better for each league to figure it out on their own. In contrast to gameplay sliders where you want to replicate NFL stats, NFL progression is a nebulous concept subject to a wide array of realistic outcomes. Luckily I dont think it will be too difficult to get it right after running a couple of test seasons.

Great that safety speed was looked at in addition to WR/CB.. Assuming they bumped S speed up ofc...!
