Baseball is probably one of the hardest games to combine commentary for every scenario that you have.

The most success we've ever seen from a commentary team was actually a fictitious team.
The biggest problem with this series commentary has been the tone of voice. The voice has been dull and not showing life like emotion on big plays. The same lines being used with a tone of voice that is engaging and showing emotion would at least add to the presentation. Then the tweaking of chemistry and added lines would be a bonus.

Its been the same general tone for so many years. I had hoped from years ago that a change would of been made and then the project of adding lines to the new commentary team could be in its further stages of development by now for the ps4 generation. But obviously this has not been the case.

I can only wish the development good luck with what they have to work with going further. But at least i do not have to get my hopes up anymore.

Work In Progress maybe?

Honest question because I don't know.
It's a good question. It's weird, some rookies come into the next version of the game having amazing faces, while others don't have a scan until year after. I like going back in older versions of the game and seeing how the faces vary from year to year for younger players. Guys who don't have portraits, aka guys who weren't in Spring Training, 99% of the time have generic faces. Interesting to know how exactly that works. Ultimately depends on if they want to have their face scanned, though.

I agree with what you are saying in regards to tone. I just think its hard for many announcers to really get excited when its not actually real life baseball. With the NHL series people complained about Doc Emrick not sounding as excited as he does in real life. Would love to see where Kirby will take this commentary as he seemed last year to really want to add a lot to it

I hear you Kehlis, but when it comes right down to it, I'd rather have a more "exciting" pbp with little lines for a couple years, than what we have now. Unless they can get Matt to be more of his tv self. It could be possible that he's just not a good "voice actor," and just can't "get into it." I don't know, I mean I can do his exact same lines, and sound 100 times more excited. We'll see if he's improved.

Lol, maybe I can do that, because being visually impaired, I can trick myself easier in pretending it's a real game!

I haven't been keeping tabs on all the streams and discussion but has anybody asked if the ability to export players from a franchise is still possible?

I'm very curious about Hybrid Presentation. If it's a smarter way of learning of how you personally want to view each game, then I clearly don't give the SDS devs enough credit because that is a masterstroke.

And the SotS news is just incredible, way better than I thought it would be. It's pretty apparent these guys out their way to appease a relatively small portion of their fanbase (a.k.a. the OS'ers, the One Percenters). Now excuse me while I go play The Show 15 and try to mellow out for the next month or so.
