Also, back to the immersion at the end of the day it's still a video game, and I think what we all have to realize is that we'll still get "video game" things in our video games haha. Let's just relax, and see how it plays out before we jump all over it.

You make a great point, but here is another thought: Why does the feature HAVE to be forced on us at all? Why can't the WHOLE thing be turned off?

That's the part that makes the least sense. Put the feature in, fine, but don't force this stuff on us, just like they didn't force the tackle cone, air supremacy, or a number of other icon features. Just give us options. I don't think that's expecting too much.

Let me just say, we don't even know how it'll operate. Let's wait for the blog...

Don't mind me, just trying to compute.
I think when you force features on people and then top it off with an icon hanging over players heads, that's taking some steps backwards for immersion, yes.

But, you don't have to agree, we can both have different views.

Immersion for me is knowing that Carlos Hyde has a better chance now of breaking a tackle from a LB than he did in '16, where any 5'9 CB could open field tackle him by sneezing on him.

I'd imagine the coding would be insane to have the game take into account height, weight, speed, ratings, tru-step, etc, for both players (ball carrier & tackler) to produce a realistic outcome instead of a diceroll; if this simulates all of that for now, then hell yeah. Even JJ Watt gets ran over sometimes, and with Tackle Battles we might see that occasionally.

The mechanic is there. It's done. It's a dead issue. We've told them that there has been some feedback about shutting it off and going back to the dice roll tackles, and they'll either add an option or they won't.

I can understand that part of it too. Let me ask you a question, would you rather have it work like the old Pro-Tack system did where you could tell if you were in an animation like that and just mash a button? Let's say for argument sake that you can't turn this off either. If you had to pick one which one would you choose? Hope my question makes sense haha!

They really need to listen to that feedback and take action while there is still time. This won't be nearly as bad as the time during the Ian Cummings days where a community day guy told him not to mess with the pre-snap adjustments and he did it anyway and it wound up becoming a little media fiasco, but it's still one of those times where you have to consider that people just want options to have the experience that suits their desired level of immersion.

I hear where you're both coming. And I agree, it has been a big problem for a long time with players getting blown up that shouldn't. My issue wouldn't be with its function and purpose, just with its visual implementation.

But I won't say anything else on it until later on with this.

Re: Madden NFL 17 Ball Carrier Special Moves, Fakeout Interaction System & Much More

Here's hoping Rex and his whole team just stick to their vision for the game, rather than create the game by committee. My fear is if all they hear is negativity & backlash before anyone's even seen a blog on the feature, much less video, they may eventually throw their hands in the air & stop listening or caring about truly making the game better.

By all means, when we get our hands on something, whether it's video, a blog, or game time, and it's just plain bad, we should absolutely shout to the heavens and let them know. Prior to that, Rex's team should be given a chance, in my opinion. I think they've earned it so far. Premature shouting is why so many sim things get tuned out of the game after release, though.

Sorry to be a little off-topic, it's just my 2 cents & opinion. I hope they stick to their vision, and we'll see how it turns out.
