I watched 3 min and I stopped. Always the same formation with almost the same play.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. More updates catering to everything but sim play. No fix to zone coverage, QB accuracy, etc. This game seemed to play better out of the box IMO, compared to after all of these updates. I really hope that Madden has two different gameplay styles moving forward, a sim mode and a tournament mode. I understand that Madden team has to pay attention to their extra money makers, but it seems like they completely ignore the rest of the community.

The game plays a lot better out of the box. That's what I'm playing it now. It's definitely the best Madden ever. They took a step last year in the right direction last year, and continued the process this year. I hope they do they same next year. I can't imagine how good it could get. BUT I absolutely hope the two modes are separated next year. Continue the process of putting the game out in the direction of sim. Player ratings being the biggest step imo in 17, along with couple things here and there as well. Then give all players the option to install the updates. But not be required. Unless the updates are directly geared towards and only offline cfm, which has not happened yet, we would not download it. So just separating the two modes FIRST would be the most logical answer for next year. Again, along with continued improvement on the game itself would be a couple more steps in the right direction for everyone involved. I think so anyway....

I know i sound like a broken record here, but bear with me, the designation can't be 'Online' vs. 'Offline'. It needs to be more defined. 'Sim' vs. 'Tournament', or however else you want to phrase it.

I'd hate for legit Online franchises to be thrown into the wrong category.

If you start MUT or are playing in a tournament, it should default to Tournament, and if you start a franchise of any sort, it should default to Simulation. Allowing the option to make the change if you wish.

Gotcha. I didnt, and probably still don't lol, understand all those other game modes. Because I would wonder when we are talking about our Offline cfm's, posters were saying how Online leagues were affected in a negative way. So yeah, your exactly right. If the online leagues do not want an update, it's their choice. They have absolutely no choice at all, as of now.

If we get different settings(fingers crossed) then tournament style settings will probably be the default settings for all modes, probably including CFM, even if IMO, most CFM players would probably end up playing on a simulation setting.

I feel like casual players prefer tournament style Madden gameplay when they do play the game, the primary difference is they aren't spending several hundred hours labbing to find every glitch in the Matrix. So let those communities just turn the game on and begin their hunt for exploits.

Does any Sim player care about having to adjust all the toggles, as long as there are all the appropriate toggles to flip? Sure it would be great if everything was designed out of the box to cater toward realistic football principles/gameplay, but we have to be honest, if it's an either/or proposition, we're going to lose that battle.

As I said in another post, let MUT and competitive play get all the back of the box shine and marketing attention, as long as we are given the tools to tune the game to a simulation product with A. White & J. White and Clint writing some blogs for us.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Re: Madden NFL 17 Title Update #8 Available Now, Here Are The Details

A couple of updates from Clint on Twitter:

JayD asked him about the FGA and or the slider and Clint stated no fixes for this Madden and hope for the future:

We've been pretty open about our desire for different sets of tuning data for online/offline

I asked him about the punt glitch, the answer was, still working on it, and they don't know about any future title updates right now.

He is answering questions on Twitter as I write this.

Ask him if it behooves a cfm only guy to play a pre tuner ootb version of the game for a more simulation experience.
