Re: More MLB The Show 17 Details Revealed

Hopefully they really include Historical Stat, Boxscore, League Standings, performances, Season Summaries, are included as part of the Franchise mode so players have sort of Almanac/Historical Section in the mode to really look back on their league's history

This is something that the Baseball game really needs to allow us to really appreciate our FRANCHISE MODE

Re: More MLB The Show 17 Details Revealed

  • New hairstyles made it into the game (Shown in the new AA locker room).
  • Road to The Show will feature a new non-linear decision making system, which will allow you to make big decisions that matter.
  • More player and team specific personality will be included in this year's game.
  • Spin of the ball off of the bat has been greatly improved with new hit types like curving hits down the line.
  • Four new Historical Stadiums are included in the game. (Old Yankee Stadium, Hubert H. Humphry Metrodome, Shea Stadium, Sun Life Stadium) - Nice detective work 13SM13!
  • All batter walkups in Diamond Dynasty will show the player card types on screen.
  • Show Track allows for some new presentational elements in this year's game.
  • More player specific home run swings.
  • Both Ken Griffey Jr. and Ken Griffey Sr. will be on the legends roster for MLB The Show 17.
I suppose it depends on what mode you play as to which new features you like the most. I play manage mode exclusively and because runs scored were too low in the Show 16 the thing I'm most interested in is new ball spin physics. I wonder whether this will impact gameplay or only animation.

More player and team specific personalities if they pertain to franchise mode will add off field depth and is a positive addition so long as they don't get carried away with it to the point where it significantly impacts performance and becomes a chore.

After ball physics the four new classic stadiums will be interesting. Shea and Sun Life specifically will play more neutral than previous classic stadiums.

One thing I wonder about is more player specific home run swings. Do these only occur when a play hits a home run or can a player swing for a home run with a different outcome?

Yes please! If Ramone announces that absolutely nothing was touched in Online Franchise again I'm gonna go nuts. Lol.

As many have already said, it's still way to early to worry about that. I'm sure that some some goodies for all modes. [emoji1]

Not to early at all. It has literally gone untouched since it debuted in 14 and there are huge glaring problems. So im not confident there are goodies for all modes. But ill be hopeful.

Finally something about physics. It's been a few years since I have bothered with buying since the rental has left me feeling blah about the game.

So I will rent again first and if the physics are actually improved I might buy.

Re: More MLB The Show 17 Details Revealed

Haven't really been paying much attention to the hyping of the game this winter, but I would be pretty happy with improved ball physics (spin/hook/slice) and some more detailed cloth "physics" texturing on the uniforms. Maybe a tweak to the CPU AI as well.

I do want new player models for MLB '18 and expansion mode in MLB '19 though. The idea of an NBA2K style branding/expansion mode in a baseball game makes me weak in the knees. Hopefully some of these things are in development.

Personally, I'd put branding/relocation at the top of my list. I don't think it will happen this year though. But man I'd love to bring an MLB franchise to Tennessee.
