It's Madden, why expect much? It will be half way implemented for the next 4 years or so

Sorry to be that guy but that was some serious suction at the 3:39 minute mark of this vid....Which brings me to my point about the Frostbite engine. 1st & foremost I just want a clean playing game. I know that the Frostbite engine comes with a lot of bells & whistles (Dynamic Weather, enhanced visuals, etc..), but what's the point of adding fluff if the core isn't there yet? For example, I would love for Dynamic Weather to be in the game but if the sidelines are still stagnant with generic nameless player models then immersion is still lost. They're touting "major visual enhancements", but if players are still walking right through other players bodies when breaking the huddle & when getting up from a pile up with limbs fusing together then immersion is still lost. They also said it will bring a new gameplay experience, but if player movement isn't improved & the physics are still wonky (players falling down when barely being touched, etc..) I think you get where I'm going....

The point is I just hope EA has their priorities in order & continue to improve the core foundation while innovating. Madden has definitely been making strides the past few years so I hope the addition of Frostbite will give EA the tools they need to give us that game we've all been waiting for.

Ehhh I don't expect much from it. Graphics might get a little better and they might squeeze out some more animations but I don't see anything else happening.

I dunno fellas. I can appreciate the skepticism but fifa made a signifigant leap in quality by switching to frostbite just like pes did switching to the fox engine a couple years ago. It 100% will make madden better. How much? Dont know but madden fans should definetly be happy about this news.

I also understand peoples reservations about it just being an engine and it all comes down to how its being used but that was what i felt was the major point if the video. If ea uses frostbite for all their games the new systems the developers discover while making say, battlefield, they could pass on and use and even further while not having to start from scratch for madden.

Should I start getting my hopes up for a potential PC release?.....Please EA, I'm begging you. Do it, gives the PCMR a football game.

Overhaul the pass blocking, needs to be gutted and rebuild from the ground up.

Maybe: If the vast majority of players are only playing a season or two and quitting/restarting then it explains why EA really has no incentive to focus on progression on draft etc.

But Maybe: The vast majority of players are only playing a season or two and quitting/restarting because EA has not focused on progression on draft etc.

I dont know which it is.

Edit: This is now very off topic.

Blocking in general. Special teams is horrendous because the game doesn't allow for blocking animations while players move. They have to stop all momentum to make a block, which creates stagnation in the return game. Lanes are incredibly rare and you'll almost always see 3-4 blockers way downfield blocking no one because they've disengaged.
