I love The Show because baseball has been my favorite sport since I was a kid. It allows me to live out my dream of playing in the MLB, and I can learn things from the commentary booth guys to add to my own broadcasting style of PbP commentary.

I have lots of reasons why I love the Show, but my biggest reason is because, despite its flaws, it still in the end really feels like I'm playing baseball.

I've played the NHL series off and on for a long time, and while that can be fun, in the end whatever that is, it ain't hockey. Sure it's got the looks, but even with the "simulation" settings and mucking around with the sliders as much as possible it still plays like an arcade game.

The Show is a lot of things to a lot of people, but I think what makes it so great is the fact that at its core it's just some good old fashioned baseball.

Why do I love the show? This year, it is probably going to be all about the Ball Physics. Humanity AI and the new animation system will help too. So when you boil it down, the one word I would use is "Gameplay".

I'll know for sure in a little over 21 days...
