Maybe some us play both. They are both wonderful and great games and I play each one to scratch a different itch.

That being said. I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting a deeper franchise mode in The Show or for that matter better 3D presentation in OOTP.

But it is all about expectations, respect and common courtesy on how you go about asking for these things from a developer.

I agree, it should be in Play Now games. Not season mode though, because season works the same as far as being its own unique universe too.

I agree with you about 2017 stats influencing franchise in 2025. I am not an expert on 2k so not sure how IE is implemented. But I don't think there were complaints in that regard about IE. IE is just one aspect of it. 2k franchise play provides mounds of on screen data that is not, I don't think, tied to IE. For instance, if you have a rookie player, for which there is no IE data, after the rookie has 10 at bats, the OSD will start to give statistical data on that player. So if it is not IE per se, then the engine that generates the statistical data should be revealed in OSD much much more frequently. It is done beautifully in 2k without the broadcasters even discussing it.

They used to, but I believe they went computerized about 10 years ago. I know for certain the schedule is computer generated now

Idea:

Move Houston back to the NL where they belong and this issue is resolved.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

There's definitely a place for negative quirks if The Show is trying to add more accurate personality to individual players. The already mentioned Lester pickoff issue is one of the most obvious examples of the role a negative quirk could play as he's terrible with anyone on base; it wouldn't matter whether the baserunner had a positive stealing base quirk. Another good example is that several power hitters simply can't hit breaking balls regardless of whether the pitcher they're facing merits the 'good breaking ball' quirk.

All that said, I wonder if they'd even be allowed to go out of their way to say that certain licensed players have glaring problems. It can be implied by the ratings to a certain degree of course but spelling things out might not make certain vested interests happy.

Agreed but that doesn't explain why they couldn't offer the much simpler option of simply cycling through previous years' IL schedules, as someone suggested earlier in the thread.

In regards to Interleague schedules, couldn't they just use previous (real-life) schedules after the first year in franchise? I'm sure 95% of us (including me) would not say, "hey, that's the 2012 schedule!" And even so it would be better than the same interleague teams every year. Just do the real schedule year 1, another, previous schedule (say 2010) in year 2, 2011 in year 3, 2012 in year 4, etc. until you rotate back around. I'd be perfectly happy with that.

Interleague rotating schedules must be a pain to code, I'm sure if your Franchise Dev could do it, it'd be in the game already.

I don't know if this would work but why not make 3 schedules for each team. There are already 5? I think because every 5 years in Franchise you get the '16 schedules again.

So if you create 3 for each team, they would rotate every 3 years.

Only problem is Houston just recently moved to the American League. If I'm an NL Central or AL West team, I may not be able to call out what schedule year I'm looking at, but I'd certainly know that it would be pre-2013.

So at most, you could play out and rotate five years worth of a schedule, which is better than nothing I guess! Close enough, at least.

But could somebody help me out... are we playing out the exact same schedule every year, or are they able to rotate NL with NL properly, just not the distinct interleague teams?

EDIT: Ah, MetsFan16 not only answers my question, but also addresses the concern question I had. Rotating five years? No problem, just do 2013-2017 over and over again from 2018, on. No division messes caused by the 'Stros.
