Gameply is awful

In it's current state, this is the worst gameplay for an EA football title in a long time. It's the most arcade feeling one yet. No defense, no closing down, and yet again, the AI just stands around watching the play develop without interacting. Hell, I've seen them run away from the ball. It's all about pace, pace, pace, and winning 7-6. Sliders are needed to hopefully fix this. Oh yeah, Goalkeepers are getting beat on their near post more than ever.

Completely agreed. Thank goodness for the EA Trial. Sticking with FIFA 23.

It's needed. lol. I mean, I thought the AI just standing around couldn't get any worse, yet here we are.

Just let the cpu control the defenders without switching near the box and laugh. Any time the ball is near the line in the box, the defenders will let them dribble right to the goalie. Then dribbling toward the box will sometimes be left alone and the CBs will just keep going back. Then they enter the box and can stand there without every being pressured.

Matt's sliders help a ton but so far it doesn't stop the above from happening but at least it happens less.

Fingers crossed that a day 1 patch comes out and addresses the atrocious defending. Another side of me thinks this was by design to tailor to the FUT crowd

I played 2 or 3 matches in FIFA23 before deleting it about 2 months ago, the exact same issues were there and they claimed they were fixing the defense.

Hopefully the mods and sliders can fix it as EA doesn't seem to care.
