Does anyone else's Online Dynasty randomly assign diffuculties?

Our OD is in the 6th season and we play on Varsity (don't judge). Ever since about season 4 we've had random weeks where players are basically given a random difficulty. So far it's just been Freshman, Varsity, or All American. It won't change for everyone in the week.

I've only ever seen this mentioned once on Reddit, but I wonder how often it's happening.

It happened to me once. Got bumped up from Varsity to All American without any rhyme or reason. Been playing on All American lately but I haven't checked.

The most noticeable is ending up on Freshman. The CPU just moves in slow motion and you'll get 10+ sacks. The times I got bumped to AA teams QB play was much better than on Varsity, but overall not a very big difference.

I’ve seen it mentioned quite a few times here on OS, and it’s not just for OD. The cause seemed to be having a different difficulty in your main settings than dynasty and then dynasty would default to what your main settings are.

For OD specifically I don’t know if it’s switching to the commissioner’s settings (my guess) or any player’s, or the home team’s in pvp, or what have you.

Bumping this back up because I'm still curious. We think it's the commissioner changing it even when we are on together playing. It's not just changed in game. We see it changed on the OD main menu. We play on AA now. It never changes to anything other than freshman.

That is suspicious that you are either playing All American or Freshman level and never Varsity or Heisman. I have an offline dynasty set to All American and I have come to the conclusion / realization that the difficulty setting is more of a request rather than demand. I have played games where I have thought, "This is too easy" and went into the options and have seen it mostly as All American, but sometimes it will be Varsity or Freshman and when the game is over I want to change the Dynasty setting and it is still AA. I have also played a few Heisman games when it should have been AA.

Older versions of Madden (Madden 22 and earlier, I think) have a bug where the difficulty in online franchise can silently change when the league owner or any commissioner enters the online franchise with a different difficulty setting than what was configured in initial setup. This can also happen in CFB 25, which was built upon an older version of Madden.

It's entirely possible that someone in your online dynasty is accidentally changing the settings without realizing they are doing it. It's also entirely possible that someone in your league is aware of the bug and is exploiting it.

Mine keeps flipping from All American to Heisman randomly. Seems to happen after every advance
