PGA Tour 2K25 Adjusting VC Payouts

Hey all - full disclosure: I'm a member of the PGA Tour 2K25 Community Council, and was on a call yesterday where some news was shared with the group.

Based on telemetry data collected by HB and 2K, the game's developers have made several tweaks to how VC will be paid out in PGA 2K25.

Starting today, following a patch that is to be released shortly, VC earnings will be as follows (the number in parenthesis indicates the increase over previous VC payouts):



Several other updates and changes are planned for this week, including free daily drops from 4/10-4/13:

4/10: 3-pack of consumable golf balls (Flight, Spin, Forgiveness)
4/11: 2-pack of club fittings (Power, Contact)
4/12: 2 Level Up Tokens
4/13: Malbon bucket hat

The clubs that were mentioned in yesterday's patch notes should also be added to the PGA Tour Superstore today, barring any last-minute changes.

There will also be a Double XP event running from Thursday, April 10 at 9 a.m. PDT to Monday, April 14 at 9 a.m. PDT. Players can earn 2x MyPlayer XP for playing MyCareer, Casual Matchmaking, Ranked Matchmaking, Ranked Tours, and Societies.

We were also shown some exciting updates that will be coming to the game soon...much more to come in the following weeks!

These are genuinely good changes, thanks for sharing them! Probably still a little on the low side imo (4 VC per hole as the base would be nice), but in a decent spot now so that the slower-paced game modes feel more worth it for getting VC.

I still think a VC bonus for winning a Ranked or Casual Matchmaking match is necessary, something like 25 VC. Hopefully Season 2 brings better participation tier rewards than 25 VC for Ranked Tours and Matchmaking to account for some of that.

New clubs are now in the PGA Tour Superstore, including a Limited Edition Callaway AI Smoke driver.

They need to nerf sponsors in career mode as well. Way too much of a grind to level up a sponsor.

I mostly play My Career and Local Matches, sometimes little bit online golf. So these changes dosent affect me.

But i noticed couple changes on quests. So now you need to get 12 daily quests to complete to get weekly reward (150 VC + other stuff). Previously it was less daily quests needed.

Also they upped requirements for some daily quests like previously it was something like get 10 shots close to pin, now it was get it 15 times.

Ofcourse these are just minor adjustments, but they all add up for needing to play more for VC.

So i like this game and its fine if there is some grinding to do when you enjoy the pure gameplay and you play it a lot. It sadly part of now days when playing games. But i would say this isn't good balance. I would like few more VC for Single Player game modes or more from quests.

One of the most frustrating things about that is it forces me to play two games to get those bench marks. I think yesterday’s was 15 FIR which is literally impossible to do in a single round.

One of the things that is most appealing to me about this game is if I have very little time, I can still get a round in but that makes those daily quests not possible to hit.

Today’s was finish an event. I’m two rounds away from doing so but only have time for a round.

Luckily I don’t care much about the VC as folks who need it for online stuff but still annoying not to have daily quests that are realistic (note - can still be DIFFICULT) to hit in a round.
