Casual gameplay?

Has anyone else tried out the casual gameplay option?

I’ve really been having a struggle hitting this year. I have been playing on simulation and tried competitive and seems like Im always late on pitches. Even tried bumping up the timing slider to no effect.

I’m not totally concerned about numbers because at the end of the day I just play to have fun.

Though I feel like playing casual is a bit of a cop out I honestly don’t know if it makes the game too easy or not.

You could try dynamic difficulty. Some guys do that. Or drop down pitch speeds a few notches.

A few years ago, I realized that my TV was the reason I couldn't hit.

I’m playing on dynamic difficulty. Hahaha

I really think my issue is with the batter feedback. Good timing weak contact with good hitting ratings drives me crazy.

My results aren’t really horrible. Regardless the team I’ve played in franchise I’ve had .300 hitters and.180 hitters.

I think I just get caught up with the hitter feedback.

I believe I can turn that off right?

Yeah you can turn that off. It's in the settings but I can't remember where exactly. I have mine on but I rarely look at it.

I was 0-3 in my Red Sox franchise. Scoring a total of 3 runs in those first three games and striking out at least 10 times per game. I turned off the swing feedback because I thought it was too distracting, and I scored 6 runs on 10 hits in the very next game. Still struck out 8 or 9 times, but I think thats on me. Not sure if its related but it worked for me to disable it. I also turned off pitch location suggestion and I pitched a lot better. Again, not sure if its related to that or if it would help you but might be worth trying

Re: Casual gameplay?

When I go into an extended slump I'll turn the feedback off for awhile because sometimes I get to the point I'm overthinking the feedback results instead of just reacting to a pitch.

Re: Casual gameplay?

Yeah, generally speaking I like all of the feedback the game gives you because it's essentially showing you how the game works - which is always something I can appreciate. But I definitely agree that seeing the results themselves can get in your head sometimes. "Paralysis by Analysis"....that sort of thing. Less of an issue when we break down players' real life performances in the same way, but when we're the ones actually doing the performing...yeah.

Sometimes it's good to just turn everything off and roll with it.
