Which is worse
I don't know which is worse.

Having the Show vaults offline or having Baseball Reference freezing when I'm trying to do a roster??

A 2022 93 man + minors roster.

It's from Show 23.

I also have done a 2023 the same way.

They are both for Show 23

The Baseball Cube is a decent alternative

They actually have a tad bit more data in the roster section (salaries, draft info, MiLB exp)

I believe they have splits, but I'd have to visit to confirm
