How to get the CPU to shoot less?

I'm using the Outsiders latest rosters and playing on 12 min. and the CPU is averaging like 100 shots a game. Is there any way to counter this?

Re: How to get the CPU to shoot less?

are you using the latest o.s outsider rosters..
or roy
because roy is the unofficial latest outsider roster..
the actual o.s outsider roster that portlandblazer released a week or so ago is flawed. ive rectifed the flaw in the roy roster [gamertag: nogman7] that had outside shooting pg too shot happy.
also what team are u using, and how many shots are you taking?

other than that. lower the speed slider or game speed and/or defend...get the cpu in the half court so they get into their sets...stay in front of your man.
it also depends on who you are playing...
if you are playing the warriors or knicks they should be shooting a lot more than say the celtics or bobcats..
there is a fair seperation on teams game tempos in our rosters..so teams play differing paces..
all i can say man. is defend. take your time on offense. and dont rush shots so they can counter with a transition basket.
and you should be fine.

im still messing around with some coach profiles but if u do everything he suggested and u still have a problem u can go into the coach profiles and put close shot, three pt shot, and attack basket all at 0 for every team and have midrange at its usual value. Doing this u will actually see cpu players appear to be thinking b4 they shoot sometimes

Re: How to get the CPU to shoot less?

another thing i've finally noticed that makes a lot of sense but actually impacts the game in a very positive way is to completely minimize off and def rebounding. if u combine this with maximizing the attempts putbacks slider u will actually see alot more off the ball movement and teams looking to push the ball. The low rebounding setting comes into play because for some reason it makes the interior defense much better. I can't explain but i finally figured out why some games i was getting completely different results with interior defense and thats why. Some games i would max out rebounding and some i would minimize!!

Try lowering the CPU's Offensive Awareness, that worked for me.

could you explain this some more please?what are your exact settings and what kind of numbers does it produce? i am the spurs in my current dynasty and i traded manu, bowen and oberto for okafor, may and raja bell. with duncan and okafor i'm sill having some trouble with rebounding and interior defense and am open to any suggestion that would improve both. my slider set is almost perfect right now, and if i can take care of this the game would be great for me (minus all the freezing of course)
